had the garlic soup and tatran tower nad oh buy. I usually have very low expectations, when it comes to the soups, as i've had one too many bad soups, but damn. It was garlicky, but without the bitterness you get from garlic. The egg was a very nice addition, while meat made the soup heartier. But the true star of the night was the tatran tower. I'm kinda used to "potato pancakes" but it was something else. They were a lot puffier than i'd expect and the fact that the meat was made with cranberries gave it an interesting, yet unusual twist. I'm writing this review and my mouth salivates from the mere thought of the dish.

the apple cake they make is really new, with whole apple halves (it seemed) baked into a sort-of apfelstrudel, reminded me of dishes my grandma would cook, but still not good enough to take the spotlight from the main dish. Also the local coca-cola, Kofola, wasa new, but very welcome experience. Kinda felt more like a medication at first, or some mix of coca cola and mulled wine, i could definitely feel anise in it. Can't say it's inexpensive, but the food quality is definitely...

The place would basically be nice and cosy. However, the food is not worth its price. Small portions, high prices. When we arrived, we were seated with 4 other people at a table (it would have been better if they had told us there were no tables available...). Then, from this group of 6, it became 10 because they added 4 more people to an 8-person table. They don't care about the guests, just the revenue. Zero control, not a professional attitude. When a couple left and we shifted to another spot because we were cramped and it was uncomfortable to eat, the waiter frowned and muttered something because he couldn't seat another 2 (!) people. We received our order after 45 minutes (people who arrived and ordered after us received their meals earlier). When we inquired about our food, the waiter's response was that it was completely normal! The food portions were small and nothing special in terms of taste. Given the good reviews, I expected more from the place. I do not recommend it! The reviews are misleading,...

Food (Bryndzove Halušky) was absolutely delicious! Fries with tartar sauce were amazing too! The service was poor, in that we were waiting nearly 25 minutes to be served while another table had it’s order taken not even 5 minutes after entering and being seated. This may have been an issue with the amount of people we had, or something else internally. After taking our order, restaurant staff were mediocre in their service. The outdoor and indoor atmosphere was beautiful! The glass (or acrylic) roof was amazing and let natural light in very well without the use of lamps. While the completely open windows and lovely scenery was spectacular, providing a lovely outdoor feeling! The bench seats had fur coats across them, adding to the outdoor feeling! Not to mention the cute goats just across the road, usually visible to spectators! The indoor wooded walls, ceiling and floor along with a tiny model of the hotel just across the parking lot! Overall a pleasant atmosphere, with amazing Slovak cuisine, and...

One can ruin everything! Koliba Bystrica restaurant left us with mixed feelings after using their services for 4 days. Breakfast, included with our hotel, was good, and our New Year’s Eve meal was decent (a la carte) . However, dinners were a disappointment, mainly due to one rude waiter whose attitude—making faces and being unprofessional—overshadowed the otherwise pleasant service from three other friendly staff members. The experience made us feel uncomfortable, like being singled out in a kindergarten. The food quality is average; some dishes, like trout and chicken, are enjoyable, but anything requiring expertise, such as steak, falls short and is poorly prepared. Overall, the experience shows how one bad staff member can ruin the atmosphere. Advise; go to 100 m away and check the restaurant U Sura, they know how to serve!!! Amazing, fully professional staff.

I recently opened a kolyba in Slovakia and am excited to share my first impressions! This place is for anyone who appreciates tradition, coziness, and delicious food. The interior has a rustic style: wooden beams, vintage dishes, and warm lighting that create an atmosphere you’ll want to return to. The menu is a real discovery, offering Slovak dishes prepared with authentic home recipes. I especially enjoyed the signature goulash and dumplings – absolutely amazing! Special thanks to our server Taras for the excellent service! He was very attentive, happily explained each dish, and recommended local specialties to try. We recommend this place to anyone who wants to experience real Slovak cuisine and feel right at home!

We ordered a fitness salad with turkey meat. We got three slices of tomato, a little grilled cheese and some bread (for 7 euros!!, see picture). They said that the translation on the menu is generally inaccurate. How true! Also, I got my potato dumplings without sausage and service was unfriendly. We told them that we weren't satisfied and the waiter just said that is wasn't his fault but the menu's fault. Strange explanation. Above all else, they didn't even turn on all the lights in the restaurant which made it look only half open. All waiters seemed stressed and upset even though there weren't many guests. The only reason they get 2 stars is because the food was pretty good.
