I'm not really sure how to start this as I have never given a bad review. To put some sense to what has happened here, I read quite a few reviews about this restaurant including some of the restaurant replies that was probably the most disturbing part of the overall experience as the owners had no issues with sending their unhappy customers to McDonald's instead of using a professional approach to the top trending negative comments that includes waiting time and customer service. Of course I was not expecting to have Michelin starred food experience but some standards must be met providing customer service. Firstly, I want to mention that if we would be greeted with a visible sign and explanation of the long waiting for the food (slow food as it states on a separate page in the menu that everyone skips) - there would be no issue. But the only time we were given an intraduction on the deviation of a standart food time was when exactly at 47 min from the time of the order I questioned if there is an issue with the food (as it is an outdoor activity area with very hungry people around) , and since the sign said "koliba" the expectations were in around traditional food/service/experience. But we got the experience of the new hipster movement (no offence) that includes jaz music, reading material, Bratislava design (and price) coffee roasters with minimalistic portion size that took overall 57 min before the family was served... (beer took 15 min to arrive). It was not koliba. I asked to pay for the drinks and leave as I begun to read the reviews that spoke to 1-2 h waiting and the wish was ignored leaving us with no other option but to wait as we were not given the drink bill... All the negativity would be avoided with proper signs of the "slow food" and "restaurant" and instead of "koliba". To top that up, as we were desperately waiting on the food, I took my kids twice to the toilets( in the period of 57 min) and we were greeted with the same appetising looking puke at the entrance of the toilet that was never attended to... Yumm! Not really sure how the food tasted as everyone around the table was already desperate and uninterested in the food...
Read moreWe came here two years ago and loved it so much that we had to come back—and it was just as wonderful as we remembered! The food is absolutely delicious, full of flavor and clearly made with care.
What makes this place extra special is everything around the meal: there’s a great outdoor playground and even a jumping castle for the kids, which kept them entertained and happy. They also have the sweetest dog and a cat that instantly made us feel at home. The setting is beautiful—right next to a little stream, with plenty of fresh air and a relaxed atmosphere.
The people here are incredibly friendly and welcoming, which makes the whole experience even better. It’s the kind of place where you can truly relax, enjoy amazing food, and let the kids play while you soak up the surroundings.
Highly recommended—we’ll definitely...
Read moreOn our arrival evening we accidentally came by this place and it left such a strong impression that we returned for two more times during our 5 day little vacation. We tried a lot of local Slovak dishes here and not a single time felt dissapointed. Every dish had a unique flavor and most them had a nice twist on top of that. The menu was crafted with care and we felt that.
The only thing that left us mixed feelings was the positioning and interior of restrooms and exterior around it. The beehives, whether the bees live there or not, should be placed a little bit farther in the area, not near the restroom entrance. Unless it's some kind of a friendly joke :D.
We wish you best of luck! If anytime we come back to Pavčina Lehota or nearby, we will visit your restaurant...
