We had mixed feelings. The place itself is very cozy, the staff are kind, and the kitchen seemed modern. The reviews were also good. Based on the photos, this restaurant looked like the best option for lunch — but somehow, things went quite wrong today. Unfortunately, we didn’t have a chance to say anything on the spot. At first, we saw it was a busy place, so we were happy to get a table even without a reservation. They took our drink order fairly quickly, but taking the food order was less smooth. Unfortunately, the menu was only in Slovak, and there was no English version available. There was, however, a QR code option, which helped — but we soon found out that the printed menu wasn’t up to date. We placed our order based on that, and it turned out that except for the burger, almost none of the dishes were actually available anymore. So after a short discussion, they came back, and we had to place our order again. When the soup and the liver pâté starter arrived, we waited a bit, expecting cutlery and plates to come. They didn’t. No problem — we asked for cutlery and got it… and a bit later, the plates as well. The soup was tasty, and its temperature was just right. The pork liver pâté was also delicious, and the bread was of excellent quality. However, the portion sizes were completely unbalanced: we got so much pâté that it would have been enough for at least ten slices of bread, spread thickly. We asked for two more slices of bread, spread it generously, and managed to finish it that way. I think the best solution would be to reduce the amount of pâté to about one-third — that would match the two small slices of bread perfectly. As a starter, two slices of bread are plenty; giving such a large amount of pâté is wasteful. And since it was tasty, we felt compelled to ask for more bread just to use it up. The main courses arrived fairly quickly, but sadly, everything except the burger was poor in quality and cold — especially the Chicken Supreme, where the meat itself was cold, dry, and overcooked, and the purée was cold and bland. The pesto pasta was just average. The burger, however, was very good — the sauce that came with the potatoes was nice, too, though the potatoes themselves were just a bit underdone and slightly crunchy. The other two dumpling-based dishes were also disappointing — lacking flavor, texture, and warmth. We honestly couldn’t even tell what we were eating. I ate one because I was very hungry, but more than half of the other was left untouched — just like the chicken dish. Because of this, we didn’t dare order dessert. Since there are so many good reviews and the place was full and very clean, I really can’t imagine how so many things could go wrong at once. In the end, the total bill wasn’t too bad, but considering everything above, the price–value ratio just didn’t feel right.

Definitely worth going out of your way to stop for lunch. We had the daily lunch menu because the rest of the items on the quite impressive food menu would have taken minimum 45 minutes to prepare. At least the waitress was honest. The soup had an unexpected Asian flair with warming beef broth, rice noodles and cilantro (first time I’ve had in Slovakia!). My main dish was tender pork with a warm bean sauce and potatoes. My wife had a refreshing salad with crunchy pear, chicken and homemade dressing. The restaurant also has standup comedy on the weekends. Plus it makes it’s own beer (Franz Lehar), which I could have led with, that I had tried at the nearby Halic Castle. I bought a couple of bottles to try at home. Absolutely delicious lagers - must be the fresh water and the hops. And even the American Pale Ale hit the mark. Wish they exported.

I ordered hamburger menu , meat was a bit cold and bun was not fresh.Fried potatoes were over cooked, dry and inedible . I informed the waitress for that and she nicely offered not to charge it , but still not OK. My daughter had pizza and it was absolutely great. One thing to mention that some drinks or foods are overpriced. Example : We ordered lemonade and it was around 5 eur but it was a regular lemonade nothing special . We live in the capital Bratislava and even here it’s cheaper in many restaurants. Price performance ratio is very poor apart from Pizza. One last comment is about parking place: it’s unkept and doesn’t look nice. The heavy rain turned the road into a series of large puddles, and by the time we reached the restaurant, we were completely soaked.
