We had a dinner here during our "eat, hike Slovenia" guided trip when we stayed in Kranska Gora. No other way to say it except WOW! Apéritifs on the deck as the sun was setting, bathing the mountain peaks in a golden hue while the mist rose from the post-rain soaked fields. Deer grazing a short distance away as people rose bikes and walked their dogs on a path maybe 100m away. Then the meal. Just incredible. Our group had a choice of two soups - mushroom was exquisite - then main was a choice between a roasted veal, and trout - all locally sourced. I had the trout - simply the very best I ever have tasted anywhere. Large a very tasty side salad. And the cinnamon apple strudel for dessert - wow. Excellent wines, and impressive beer offering and of course Slovenian brandies for digestif. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! We will return to rent an apartment they plan to add, to spend a week cycling, hiking and rafting..! And...

The atmosphere was great, the staff was very friendly, and the views from the terrace were phenomenal. The view to the south is towards Mount Ponca, after which the inn is named!
