Gostilna pri hrastu — Restaurant in Nova Gorica

We were a groups of cyclists visiting the town for the night, coming back from a 110 KM trip... we entered the place as we heard good reviews and we were so hungry. we didn't have a reservation of course, as we were on bike all day.. we entered, and a young lady looked at us with as we said hello,, we need a table of 7 ppl, she immediately answered, do you have a reservation, we said no,,, she waved with her hand and said sit over there, and pointed at a 6 chairs table.. we accommodated ourselves alone, and brought a 7th chair.. then a waiter cam quickly handed us menus and left... the menus were all in Italian, no QR.. we only knew english.. so we waved for the guy to help us out, even after googling some dishes, we needed help knowing what is best.. he said I'm very busy, and you came in a busy day, this is the menu, choose for yourself, and left us... we waited for like 7 min and agian called him, can't you just help us, we need to eat and we are hungry, we dont understand the menu, he said: am busy cleaning tables, some tables are waiting for me to remove thier plates, it is your fault you came at a busy time... this is what i can o ffer you, read the menu and choose, other than this i can't help. Disappointing Experience – Poor Service and Unwelcoming Attitude

We had one of the most disappointing dining experiences at this restaurant. Our group was part of a week-long charity cycling tour, covering hundreds of kilometres across multiple countries to raise funds for children, families in need, and local hospitals. After a long day of riding, we arrived at our hotel and searched for a nearby place to eat—unfortunately, we chose this one.

From the moment we walked in, the reception was cold and unwelcoming. A staff member looked us over in a very dismissive manner and asked if we had a reservation. When we said no, she pointed to a table without a word of courtesy, as if we were an inconvenience.

After sitting down, we waited a long time for a server. When we asked about certain menu items, the waiter rudely told us he was too busy to help, had tables to clean, and we’d have to figure it out on our own. His tone and attitude made it clear we were not welcome.

In the end, we chose to leave. We were shocked by the level of indifference and lack of basic hospitality. This was especially disappointing given the context of our visit and the spirit of the journey we were on.

Sadly, we cannot recommend this...

Purtroppo devo dare questa recensione dopo un fatto veramente spiacevole successo la scorsa settimana. Siamo clienti oramai da tanti anni, frequentiamo questo ristorante per dei pranzi veloci super buoni oppure per dei pranzi/cene importanti perché ci siamo trovati sempre benissimo. Pulizia degli ambienti, qualità e preparazione dei piatti buonissimi personale gentile e disponibile.... Ma questa volta non è stato così! Avevo organizzato un pranzo con mia mamma e nonna... già accomodandoci al tavolo avevamo visto che il tavolo non era stato preparato completo (mancavano bicchieri, tovaglioli ecc) vabbè può succedere... arriva la cameriera facciamo l'ordine, arrivano i piatti e cortesemente chiediamo se può portarci una forchetta/coltello e ci viene risposto di prenderla la vicino (da sole) richiediamo I tovaglioli (che già mangiavamo) e alla 3 richiesta la cameriera è passata senza fermarsi e ci ha sbattuto una decina di tovaglioli sulla tavola andando via. Arrivato il momento del dolce ci presenta una millefoglie con le fragole peccato che la crema era completamente liquida quasi latte puro, ho chiamato in maniera cortese la cameriera chiedendo spiegazioni e mi viene risposto in modo scortese oggi la crema è così!!! Io a quel punto ho detto che non mi andava di mangiare un dolce completamente sfatto e liquido. Ci alziamo senza prendere null'altro anche perché l'ambiente non era confortevole come sempre. Vado in cassa per pagare e trovo la cameriera che ci ha servito durante il pranzo... Guardo lo scontrino e in modo educato dico che mi dispiace come siamo state trattate e da lì la cameriera urlando come una matta comincia a dirmi "zitta paga e vattene" io allibita chiedo se sta scherzando? ", che non è un modo educato di trattare i clienti, lei imperterrita è andata avanti con strafottenza urla e menefreghismo dicendomi "paga e vattene via" ad un certo punto anche altri clienti si sono avvicinati e hanno confermato il modo scortese e maleducato della cameriera... Ad un certo punto ha cominciato a dirmi frasi in sloveno "ed io l'ho bloccata dicendogli intanto parla italiano xché io lo sloveno lo capisco benissimo e non ti devi permettere" a quel punto anche un'altra cliente in lingua slovena ha cominciato ad alzargli la voce dicendogli in Sloveno di star zitta e comportarsi in modo educato verso i clienti. La situazione non si calmava anzi la cameriera continuava a fare il suo show continuando a dire paga vattene e facendomi il gesto con la mano di andar via... quindi mi son vista obbligata a chiamare un superioriore. È arrivata una cameriera che ci aveva già servito varie volte (molto professionale sempre) e spiego la situazione, imbarazzata ci ha chiesto scusa ma non riusciva neanche lei a calmare la collega. Alla fine allibita ho chiesto gentilmente il nome della collega (Nataša) che ci ha maltrattato per sapere incaso che vorremmo tornare un domani (che non sia in turno quel giorno) anzi spero vivamente che la mettano a fare altre mansioni non a contatto con i clienti. Mi dispiace tantissimo perché questo ristorante era il nostro posticino del cuore dove avevamo sempre una certezza sulla qualità del cibo e del servizio che però purtroppo per colpa di una dipendente è svanito. Alla fine il pranzo non l'abbiamo pagato ma ho chiesto gentilmente alla "responsabile" di farlo pagare alla collega maleducata. Spero vivamente di poter fare una prossima recensione...
