El restaurante de Poncho — Restaurant in Ptuj

Located quite a bit outside the centre of Ptuj. Mostly Mexican oriented in terms of the menu, but the actual taste is not very Mexican. Vegetables and even the guacamole were from cans. All differently named Mexican wraps, like taco, tortilla, quesadilla etc appear to be made of the same wheat flour wrap from the supermarket. The taste was not bad, but just flat and not as fresh as we hoped for. There is plenty of food for a reasonable price, but do not expect Mexican food. Good playground for younger kids, very friendly and professional service. Good English menu, including vegan options with vegan cheese....

Vegan unfriendly. The chef does not understand what vegan means. Like at all. The expaination "no animal products" is apparently not clear enough. On the third attempt I got soggy veggies (or what was left from them) inside tortillas. It looked as if somebody already digested them halfway; no colour, no structure, was not able to tell what it was. It also did not taste like veggies, but rather as some weird meaty like tasting leftover broth from the day before served inside tortillas. Absolutely disgusting. I imagine that is what garbage tastes like. The waiters are nice and...

We ordered patate con soya (fries with soya chunks in cream sauce) - big portion but just bland - a burrito (soya chunks and veggies, side of rice and veggies) - big portion, rice was bland, burrito without any beans or corn (?) and a quesso salad (more like greek and already seasoned which I hate). I also ordered a garlic yogurt sauce which had no garlic inside. Told the waitress about it, still got charged...
