I stayed here for 2 nights only this week. I arrived early during lunch ( the popular local restaurant is below the guesthouse) but was immediately shown my room (#101). It is a very large room ( 2 king singles together) and the bed was comfortable as were the pillows. |Sometimes, if the window is open, you can hear traffic but its reasonably quiet. The locals eat and leave by about 10... |Bathroom was great and a good shower. ||The food is AMAZING!! Im a foodie and I ate here 3 times in 2 days it was that good. ( the supplied breakfast is simple - 2 sorts of cereal, yoghurt, cheese , tomatoes, and meats and bread.. Choice of cappuccinos, tea etc)||I had a black risotto special with mushrooms and scallops in the shell sprinkled with parmesan. A few red wines. Cost Euro $17||Highly recommend the mushroom soup, beef ( i had rare) with truffle sauce and arugula and pine nuts, followed by strudel ..to die for.. And a side salad! Big portions.. Perfectly cooked. Congrats to the chef. The manager Boris is wonderful and friendly and i just asked him to recommend everything.. He was spot on. The other 2 ladies working the tables were also happy and looked after me . ||While the rooms are average ..they are big and comfortable. But you don't go to such a beautiful place like Ljubljana to sit in your room. ||I would happily stay here again just for the food and...

Pensavamo che l'inferno non esistesse ma ci si sbagliava..arrivati la mattina alle 10 una signora ci ha preso documenti e permesso di mettere alcune borse con materiale deperibile in un ufficio che avevamo notato non essere molto accogliente ..anche la scala che portava a questo locale era sporca e con ragnatele ma visto che era per metà aperta non ci abbiamo dato molta attenzione..Abbiamo parcheggiato all hotel e a piedi raggiunto Lubiana..la sera verso le 18 stanchi per aver camminato 6 ore per la città sognavamo doccia e stenderci sul letto in attesa di cenare al ristorante annesso che avevamo prenotato al mattino..fiduciosi x le buone recensioni..ma di questo parleremo dopo...Prendiamo le chiavi e ci avventuriamo per la scala esterna poi dentro per una scala in legno,premetto che vicino la scala interna nel pianerottolo c'era una brandina e una sedia.Da adesso l'incubo..la porta sembrava scassinata e la moquette davanti all'ingresso consumata e sudicia.. lasciamo le valige ed ispezioniamo le due stanze.Polvere su tutti i mobili, un palloncino dentro un mobile un biscotto sotto al letto di una stanza e gli abbaini vecchi rugginosi e polverosi..in una stanza un trave con chiodi sporgenti.il wc con incrostazioni e il copriwater bagnato di non so cosa..solo la biancheria del letto era pulita..apriamo un mobile dove troviamo un frigobar pieno di polvere ,macchiato con bibite polverose...immaginate che condizioni igieniche spaventose..la moquette consunta sporca e intorno alla stanza pure con la muffa in una stanza staccata dal muro fili elettrici penzoloni in un bagno e chi più ne ha più ne metta..A questo punto abbiamo deciso di avere spiegazioni e una signora del ristorante ci ha detto che non c'era nessuno per parlare..ma ha chiamato il proprietario al tel che non si è scusato,ha solo detto che avrebbe mandato la ragazza delle pulizie e ci ha offerto una stanza tripla..l'abbiamo vista ed abbiamo deciso di prenderla solo perchè almeno avremmo trascorso la notte in compagnia per paura che uscisse qualche scheletro dagli armadi.La ragazza è arrivata e ha detto a mio marito che purtroppo la chiamavano solo per il fine settimana e non riusciva a fare tutto..premetto che era martedì..ma credo che quelle tre camere la ragazza non la vedessero da molto tempo..tornati in camera dopo che lei aveva pulito la polvere su metà scrivania era sempre presente sul televisore abbondava e le bibite dentro frigobar sempre polverose aveva solo tolto dalla base un po di macchie..Il cuoco del ristorante con una divisa già poco pulita è venuto a fare foto si è inginocchiato sulla moquette che era penosa e poi è tornato in cucina così abbiamo deciso di cenare altrove. Tornati in hotel nei tavoli del ristorante in giardino c erano piatti con avanzi di cibo vassoi sulle sedie e la mattina quando siamo ripartiti ancora cartacce e sporcizia a terra pure dentro il locale..Non fatta colazione ma partiti subito. Se tutto questo non vi avesse dissuaso da andare in questo hotel i proprietari hanno comunicato a booking.com che non ci eravamo presentati con il rischio di dover pagare le due notti per due camere.Per fortuna ci hanno fatto ricevuta che abbiamo inoltrato al sito di booking e gli operatori hanno capito la...

Reading other online reviews, I was prepared for rooms with very low ceilings and not of a high quality.

The building is an old building but neither I nor my travelling companion had problems with the height of the ceilings.

The decor of the rooms was not modern but it was functional, clean and in a good state of repair. The beds were clean and comfortable. The bathroom was also clean and everything functioned.

Breakfasts are taken in the restraunt and are good. The range on offer is not like you would find in a hotel, but then this is not a high end hotel, so what was on offer was on par with the small venue that it was.

Other comments I read prior to staying here mentioned that you required a car as it was 2km from the city centre. You don't need a car, as 2km is walkable and if you don't wish to walk there is a frequent bus service that stops outside. If you do come by car there is very limited parking at the venue and limited on street parking

Overall, I would recommend staying...
