Fantastic place to stop for Krempita and coffee!
The main reason why I am writing this review is because I was shocked to see some of the bad reviews of this place on Google. Let me put it in perspective - I live in England and I can say with 100% certainty that this place (as well as most places like this in Slovenia) are million times better then anything you can find in England! People have no idea how good they have it in Slovenia! In England you simply cannot find a place like this. Petrol stations are horrible places where the best you can expect is a packet of overpriced crisps. Yes, toilets are free but no sane person would ever use the toilets as they look like out of a horror movie! This place in Slovenia has actually amazing freshly prepared food! Yea, you pay 1 EUR for WC but if that bothers you get a clean and hygienic toilet. Not the awful mess you get in E gland! Honestly, in England we can only dream about something like this. Sadly, most people dont even dream as they are completely unaware that there is something better than the garbage they have here! Freshly prepared food? No way - unless it’s garbage like MCdonalds or similar. So, who ever complains about yhis place - go to England for a reality check and you will tealise that Slovenia is...
Read moreTerrible experience! If you can skip this place, do it! I already went there with low expectations, but they served me an undercooked chicken leg. Naturally, I complained. They just took it back and put it in the oven for 2 minutes. No hesitation. After 2 minutes they returned it to me — my reaction 🫥 vs. theirs 👌🍗. I went back to my table, trying to collect myself, but the meat was only properly cooked in the spot where I had cut it.
So I went back… yes, again. I complained politely once more. She took the same chicken leg and straight back into the oven it went. Again. — “I’m sorry, I don’t want that leg anymore.”
Another lady stepped in, took a new chicken leg, cut it up with surgeon-like precision, and shoved it in the oven. Nobody spoke to me, nobody listened. — “I don’t want it anymore, I want my money back.”
Instead, they served me the new cut-up chicken leg, dry but at least baked this time (see photo attached). At this point, I dropped the polite tone and asked for 4 pieces of Čevapčiči. I couldn’t eat them — the whole situation had completely ruined my appetite.
Oh, and by the way, you also have to pay for the toilets, but the mess in there was...
Read moreThe toilet policy is horrible!! When you would like to use the toilets after you have already paid for your meal or drink, you need to pay again, to use the toilet as your receipt or the fact you are a restaurant guest is not valid for toilet entrance!
So, after you have spent for food, and the place is really expensive for what you get, you need to pay again to use the toilet!!
What about the foreigners who use card payment and do not have any euro change...!!??
Today I have experienced a really bad situation as I didn’t have any change on me... Firstly, I have paid for the toilet use with my last 0.50 euro coin, than paid for my lunch (with the card), and of course needed to use the toilet again, without any change on me... The lady working at the bar, not the cleaning lasy (21.11.19. 15:00), DID NOT WANT TO OPEN THE TOILET DOOR FOR ME(!!!) When I have asked for the manager she refused to call him/her. So, this is rude and unacceptable!! “Thank you” Marche Management!
In future I will be definitely avoiding this...
