AgulYeah, no. It’s truly sad how disappointing the restaurant scene in Struisbaai has become, and Agulhas Seafoods is no exception.

As a chef who has worked in some of the highest-rated restaurants around the world, I can confidently say their “cured salmon rolls” were a dismal attempt. The fish had an awful smell (really bad). I phoned them, not seeking a refund but to give them a heads-up and suggest checking their stock. Instead of addressing the issue, I was met with a defensive attitude, a barrage of excuses, and countless explanations for why I was wrong.

Hoping this was a one-off issue, we attempted to dine there again this weekend. However, the smell upstairs was so overpowering that my wife couldn’t even sit on the balcony.

The best fish and chips you'll ever eat comes from the most Southern fish and chips shop in Africa. They also make the most delicious calamari and their sushi is make fresh daily. The upstairs restaurant is fully licensed, while downstairs has a selection of beer and wine. Sit in and enjoy a meal or do a takeaway and walk just around the corner from the shop and eat your fish and chips on the beach overlooking the tidal pool. Pets are welcome to join you if you eat your meal on the pavement chairs and tables.

This is usually my favourite fish and chips spot when i am around Cape Agulhas. The vibe is always calm and peaceful, and the staff also friendly. The place is clean and neat, whilst also decently decorated. The food is very fresh and tasty, hence i never visit any other fish and chips place except this one in the area. My daughter is usually happy with chicken strips or nuggets and chips, but this time she tried the fish nuggets. I couldn't help myself so i tried some of hers, and i was very impressed.
