I had an incredible dining experience at Moksh Aurora Centre. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the staff were attentive and friendly. Our server, Ramesh, provided excellent service, making sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. The restaurant had a calm and pleasant ambiance, perfect for a relaxing meal.
The food was outstanding. I ordered the Chicken Vindaloo with an extra hot spice level, and it was absolutely delicious. The heat level was intense but balanced perfectly with the rich and flavorful sauce. The chicken was tender and well-marinated, making every bite a delightful explosion of flavor. It’s not often that you find a place that gets the spice level just right, but Moksh nailed it.
My girlfriend ordered the Butter Chicken mild, and she absolutely loved it. The sauce was rich and smooth, with a perfect balance of sweetness and spice. It had a comforting, creamy texture that paired wonderfully with the Butter Naan, which was soft and fluffy with a hint of buttery goodness. It was clear that a lot of care went into preparing each dish.
Overall, our experience at Moksh Aurora Centre was nothing short of excellent. The quality of the food, the attentive service, and the welcoming atmosphere made it a memorable visit. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for authentic Indian cuisine with perfectly adjusted spice levels. Five stars...
Read moreThis was my first ever visit to Moksh in Durbanville. It's been a while since I last had a proper Indian curry and my wife decided to treat me. A very relaxed unassuming restaurant in a quiet suburb of Durbanville. It was a Wednesday and I did not expect many customers but was pleasantly surprised. When we arrived (very early at 17h45) there was one other couple dining inside (there is also an outside area with a few customers but I could not see how many) but during the course of the evening quite a number of tables filled up around us. The waiter was very attentive and took the time to explain some subtleties on the menu. The one lowlight of the evening was the menu itself. When I opened it the pages were so sticky it stuck to each other and I really felt this was unacceptable. I pointed this out to the waiter but I have a feeling that due to language differences he did not quite understand me. The same was true when he explained the menu to us. The food was delicious. My wife ordered a mild curry which was a bit sweet for her taste but she enjoyed it thoroughly. My extra-hot lamb curry was mouthwateringly, 'teary-eyed' hot and I had to finish an ice-cold bottle of Durbanville Hills all by myself. Fortunately my wife drove us home. I would have liked to give a 4-star rating because of the curry but the sticky menu was...
Read moreUndoubtedly one of my favorite Indian restaurants to visit. The owner takes has a very involved role unlike other restaurants and he helps you to select a meal based on a few simple questions which really adds a detailed and specific approach to dining. The food options are vast with the menu being broken down into 3 main categories: chicken, lamb, and seafood, but they are vegan friendly too. The flavor of the curries are truly satisfying and unique and ultimately hits that craving.
The only downsides I have are that we noticed a baby roache on the wall which was unsettling. Secondly, the decor for me was a little tacky and could be spiced up (excuse the pun) to add a greater immersion in terms of atmosphere. Thirdly, the seating is also quite packed and I felt uncomfortable when another table was seating as the gentlemen's bottom was rubbing against my arm in the process.
All in all, still the best curry I've tasted, at a...
