Been here a couple of times. Ladies night gives you great deals on main meals, but I was disappointed at our last visit last Wednesday to pay full price for a schnitzel and find out I would've paid the same for 2, but our waitress decided not to communicate that to us. My sister and I each ordered a plate of calamari, but wanted something more, so we ordered a schnitzel. On previous visits all the main meals we ordered were included in the ladies night deal, as we each have our own meal, and then something extra sometimes, but this time we were told we had to pay full price for the schnitzel because we both ate a piece of it, but that we could have had 2 for the same price.

Felt like the waitress really could have told us we could get 2 schnitzels for the same price as 1 when we ordered instead of when we were paying. Disappointed that the staff doesn't explain specials and when asked about it make it seem like it's not something they are supposed to tell customers about.

In terms of food:

Avoid this place. Stale 3 day old hamburger rolls, ordered a sauce with steak which never arrived despite asking twice, ordered chicken livers with Portuguese roll got overspiced livers that nobody could eat, no roll but with veg sides? Bowl was chipped, steak was underdone. The worst of all rude staff. I was talking to our waiter and was rudely interrupted by a waitresses who drew his attention away in the middle of my conversation. Bad lack of common manners by the owner who sat 3 m away and did nothing, but smoke and drink. No supervision. If you want fresh, good food, avoid this place. If you want to just drink, then it's the place to go. I will NEVER go back there again. I advise somewhere where you can enjoy fresh edible food and with better service. I should have just bought a pizza next door. This place should be shut down. The only reason I gave a 2 star for service is because he was overworked and overstretched. Considering I ended up at this unique establishment after my Hen Night in 2010, 12 years on and the same welcome vibe is ever present! Andre and his attentive team pay attention to each customer detail requests like mine for a thin-lipped wine glass to drink out of! The live music is a welcome respite after hard days graft with various artists indulging our senses! Make sure you devour their Southern Fried chicken Burger, ideally on Thursday Budget special night! But having said that, every night you can enjoy a great deal meal that is kind on your pocket. The resident goldfish family get greeted by myself every visit and they are very happy in the pub environment!!
