Wimpy — Restaurant in Eastern Cape

On my son's birthday Thought we going to enjoy a lovely brunch, but to my dismay. Our bad experience started at the door where we were just standing there with no one to take us to our table nothing, all just for one of the staff members to tell us to go and sit anywhere were there is a clean table,being a former employee of Wimpy(while I was still in school) I made sure I kept up with store standards and customer services. But I guess it's not important anymore. Anyways waitor came puts down the menues and leave Sitting there trying to atleast enjoy the day with my kids. We ordered our drinks Small milkshake, cuppacinno and reg coke,waitress came back to say the ice cream is to soft for a milkshake 😔 Had to take a cream soda for her,very sad Drinks came, she left without even giving me any sugar for my coffee I had to call her while she was attending her other tables just to ask for sugar like really now Just dumped it and left Next best thing our food came all to see that I ordered a sweet chilli chicken schnitzel and she bringing me a wrap Arguing with me that I said wrap The more I say I said schnitzel she goes on about a wrap, I just said leave I'll take it because if I send this back now what going to happen , then I'll just have to pay for it she replies. She then insisted in giving me some chips. Being very annoyed and frustrated at this time I never enjoyed any of it. My son even got a piece of plastic in his patty while eating he had he mixed grill. That moment I just wanted to leave. Worst experience ever and I sorry to say I won't go there again.

Service nt good if you came there you wait after six persons help or came in theybwill help and what i see today is catering personalety skills how to operate as a kelnerin you sepost to help people and custermors what i see is one sit with a phone the orther one is not even friendlier and the other one said she will help you never came back you know wile i wait for sombody to help me there come two ladies in mom and dogte and she ask am i sitting alone can the sit by me i said yes because her mom was old. While they finish there meal and i still waiting for my food the the dogter ask she is going to pic a pay because they reculery custemers her mom wait at Wimpy and she go to pick a pay she told her om dont warry i am there so i wait pay my bill so long and talk to her mom we lag and chat i dont have to do that but weet wat that is kindness custermers services and people skills and care for eatch orher especialy older people and make the costemors feel at home and...

Absolutely average at best however, I've experienced worse. Our waiter was friendly, attentive and brought our table of eight's order without any hassles, thank you.

The atmosphere was ruined by a few tables over where the father and children were on their phones, playing games and watching YouTube, seemingly at full volume.

When I asked the waiter if they could please ask the man and his children to turn down their volume, I was told that it would not be advisable to so and that our table and the waiter would be called racist. Hmmm, the good ol' race card...

It would've been good to see the manager of this Wimpy to get involved and attempt to resolve the situation in a orderly fashion, rather than to leave patrons and staff member/s feeling intimidated by the idea of said race card.

Gotta love our beautiful...
