💬 Personal Experience: Stopped by CoffeeTalks Café on a Wednesday afternoon for a brunch/lunch, and it was an amazing experience from start to finish.
We were warmly welcomed by Rudolph, who was exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable. He walked us through the various coffee and tea options, making the visit even more special.
The food was outstanding, with the chicken wrap being a highlight—flavorful, fresh, and perfectly prepared. The juices and smoothies were equally fantastic, making it hard to pick a favorite.
One of the most unique offerings was the Israeli coffee, also known as "muddy" coffee, which had a rich and bold flavor unlike anything I’ve had before. Definitely worth trying!
The garden area is beautifully kept, and the ducks in the pond added a charming touch. It’s an incredibly peaceful setting, making it a great spot to unwind.
What’s even more fun is that games are available for guests to play, making it a fantastic place for social gatherings or casual meetings. The WiFi was strong, and I noticed a few people working there throughout the day.
💡 Final Notes: ✔️ Amazing service and a welcoming host. ✔️ Top-quality food & drinks—highly recommend the chicken wrap and Israeli coffee. ✔️ Relaxing garden with ducks and a calm atmosphere. ✔️ Games & strong WiFi make it a great spot to hang out or work.

Read moreMy friend and I discovered CoffeeTalks during our exchange period at the UFS, and what a discovery it was. This place is located in a very calm area, away from the busy city. They serve great and yummy food (breakfast and lunch!), you can choose from different dishes or make your own mezze plate. And for the sweet tooth, they offer a variety of delicious and fresh pastries. The smoothies are very good and freshly made, the coffee is delicious (try the Turkish, possible with kardemom if you’d like) and you’ll definitely find a tea you like in the great variety they offer. Food and drinks are a 10/10 at CoffeeTalks, but that’s not the only reason you should go. The garden is an oase, a little piece of paradise. You’ll see some ducks quacking around and the donkeys will come say hi. Furthermore, they offer lots of board games you can play while you’re there, and even organise weekly special board game nights. The owners and people working at CoffeeTalks are extremely friendly, we loved our talks on our standard Sunday visit. Oh, talking about Sundays, every week they offer a veeery delicious buffet! We loved everything about this place and if we’re ever back in Bloem, you’ll definitely find us at a sunny table under the tree.
Once again, thank you for everything! Cheers and take...

On our way back to Joburg on the N1 we passed through Bloemfontein and thought to catch some breakfast/ brunch that morning.
Searched some breakfast places and CoffeeTalks Cafe stood out for me right away just from the reviews and photos. And it did not disappoint!
Such a magical place that transports you into a cross Mediterranean- South African vibe that boasts a romantic/ rustic architecture coupled with nature and some cute small ducks waddling here and there.
The owner and his son were wonderful and friendly people that made you feel welcomed from the start.
We had the unexpected and lucky surprise of finding the breakfast brunch on the Sunday we were there. From freshly baked bread to a variety of dips and tapas like olives, pickled onions, chermoula, Tabbouleh shakshuka- style eggs and more! And to top it all off with some Turkish coffee mixed with Moroccan spices and served with a piece of chocolate covered Turkish delight.
You can’t go wrong with anything on their menu but everything in their buffet was delicious so I’d recommend trying their relishes/dips with their fresh bread if you...
