Southern Corner Cafe @ Windmill Casino — Restaurant in Free State

I have been supporting this small business for a while. Unfortunately I will no longer support this business due to the service I received today. It was 13h24 when I order two take-aways, Chicken strips with chips. I waited patiently because it was loadshedding and the only place able to give me and my son lunch. After waiting for an hour and half, and seeing customer that arrived after me, leaving with their food I still waited for the waitron to come to the table. She politely asked me to repeat my order so she can find out why it's taking so long. I asked her about the price of the cooldrink because she mistakenly gave me the wrong change. She returned with my food and change at 14h45 and I requested to see the manager. The irritated manager blatantly refuse to see me, not even knowing what I wanted to say... after a while he then came to me and started to make a scene infront of other customers because I dared to give him fair criticism about the menu's that need to be updated because the pricing on the menu does not correspond with the till slip. And I heard the waitrons complaining about this before. He screamed at me to leave the shop and pointed to the door. Chasing me and my son out of the shop. I had to wake up my son because he fell asleep on the table while waiting for the food. I regret to give a bad review but if this is his behaviour toward customers that support his restaurant... I will not return and I will definitely not promote or support his business...

Terrible experience. We went to the Corner Café for a brunch, unfortunately our decision was something I regret. First off, the café does not follow any of the Covid-19 government protocols. No one of the staff members was wearing masks, no screening at the entrance and no social distancing from the server to the costumer/Guest. Firstly this is against the law and secondly, it is very irresponsible by the café, because there is many older guests/costumers that is supporting the café. So they put their guests/costumers at risk.

Secondly, it took them 25 minutes to prepare 2 hot drinks. When we asked the server why it is taking so long, she apologized and said that it was busy. 8 Tables, I won't call that busy. Our food came at the same time as the drinks, unfortunately we found hair twice in my date's food, this is something that is very concerning and very unacceptable. The server took the plate away and offered to replace the food, unfortunately we were not interested to stay.

The only reason why I did not gave this café a 1 star is because they tried to correct the issues by waving the bill. But that does not make the...

Well I believe the casino location in Bloemfontein is understaffed and under trained. My cocktails was made improperly it was an Pina Colada and it was separated when it arrived with chunks of ice cubes and watered down it should have been called cocktail lite no flavor or character the umbrella was about to fall off the edge. The food came out staggered our family we’re eating while other members were waiting but to end on a good note the milkshakes here are fantastic and the chips were ok just some work to be done on cooking levels of the meat and bartending. Very Slow Service do to low personnel, I’m not sure if this is the way this establishment wishes to be represented I was really pumped to eat here tonight only to be let down… it’s on two on duty...
