Caffe Finetsa Modderfontein — Restaurant in Gauteng

I recently visited this new café and was pleasantly surprised by the clean, modern décor — very inviting and well-kept. I met a client there for coffee, and while I didn’t try any food, it looked great.

The staff were polite and attentive, but around 4 pm some of them sat down in a booth right behind us. I’m sure they were just taking a break after a long day, but as a customer, seeing staff sit down like that gave me the same impression as when you see chairs flipped onto tables — it felt like a subtle signal that closing time was near. It made my client a little uncomfortable and made us feel like we should wrap up. I don’t think it was intentional, but it’s something the café might want to be aware of from a customer’s perspective.

Overall, it’s a nice spot with good service and atmosphere. I would love to try...

The food was decent just overpriced for what you’re getting, however the owner is extremely rude and looks unapproachable. I sat at a table next to her as she worked and the waiter who served me kept looking up at her, extremely nervous as I attempted to order. I asked for an alternative for one of the ingredients listed and he got even more uncomfortable as he kept looking up in her direction until he went up to her and asked if my request was doable. She abruptly said that it will be an extra charge and I agreed so she shrugged her shoulders and approved my order. She created an extremely awkward atmosphere. I greeted the staff on my way out including the owner who just looked at me and refused to reciprocate, not even a smile. Will definitely not...

Food is really good here. Been a couple of times. Chicken livers very tasty and flavorful. The steak sandwich....wow the steak was so tender. The only thing that was a negative for me was the suace. I would say the chef was maybe a little too generous with it. It was so overpowering that I couldn't enjoy the other flavours at all. So a little less sauce would be great. Waiter came around after the meal and was selling sourdough bread. Loved that he gave a quick explanation about the goodness of the bread. Had Toasties that evening and wow best sourdough bread we had in a long time. Useally sourdough bread is chewy and hard. This bread was soft and fresh. Will definitely go again. Service...
