It's a portuguese restaurant so we tried it because we enjoy that cuisine. The venue looks like it's been there for decades and is directly sited on the main road. Parking may be limited, but the place was mostly empty when we visited so it was not a problem for us. The furniture is basic, and they cater for smokers in separate sections indoors. There's a large bar and lots of TVs scattered all over, where popular sport is shown. They do not have a big menu but still have a pretty good variety of meat and seafood dishes. As a group of 3, we shared 2 starters, a huge seafood platter and a bottle of wine, and ended up paying about 300 each.. which is super value! The starters were OK, nothing to yell about. The seafood platter was fantastic, with prawns, mussels, calamari, fish, rice and wedges filling a large platter - more than enough for the 3 of us. I was only disappointed with the mussels as they did not feel very appealing, but everything else was very tasty. The service was excellent as well, with our waitress very attentive and pleasant. Overall it was a good experience and I would recommend it to anyone who likes good food at a very...
Read moreHaven't been to Cesco's in a long time. Used to frequent it as a favorite. So, when we were invited to meet our neighbours there last night, I was excited.
I ordered the pork trinchado, which the menu said came with a secret sauce and chillies, etc. (In the past, I always ordered the prego trinchado.) What a DISAPPOINTMENT!
I think it was made up of the leftovers from previous diners' meals. No chillies (ordered extras), the secret sauce consisted of tasteless oil with old gravy, the 5 chips soaked up the oil, the 5 pieces of pork were dry with soggy pieces of fat on the ends.
The staff were friendly but our waitress had so many tables to serve that I put our used glasses and plates (my food hardly eaten) on the table behind us.
I woke up this morning at around 4am with a severe headache and an upset stomach!
I love Cescos' atmosphere but I won't be eating...
Read more6 months beforr Covid my son and I went on a golf tour to Portugal. The Algarve to be exact. The group we went with were msinly Portuguese and so we were taken around to various restaurants to sample the cuisine. The 2 restaurants that we most enjoyed were Teodosios and Marufo where the speciality was chicken cut into squares. One of the guys we went with recommended Cescos as being similar (with the comment "ask for Joe and it will be even better") we didnt but ordered the chicken Lm style which is the closest yet to what we enjoyed in Portugal. I would rate it as 4 out of 5. A small bar/restaurant. Service was good and i will definitely go again which is as good a recommendation as you can get. Threre are a lot of places i can spend my money and i would be stupid to go somewhere if i thought there was a better meal...
