Visited MV Cafe today and it was not very impressive. My overall experience was very disappointing. On arrival, someone eventually came to the door to greet us and show us to a table, however the waiter didn't even know where to seat us. So my wife, baby and myself wondered around for a while and just picked any random table to sit at. The drinks were good and arrived fairly quickly. Having a baby at the table forces you to order quickly in the hopes to get that little belly filled as soon as possible. We decided to order simple sandwiches because we felt that it would arrive quickly, but this was not the case. My rating is so low because when we go out we look for 2 things, great food and a good experience. The food was ok, no flavour. The experience was just awful and I couldn't wait for it to end. Don't see...

We had a casual family lunch this past Sunday . The Plan was to have lunch and pick up the shopping for the week. So we truly chose this place at random. What a gift ! The menu is vast and hubby commented that he would like to try all the items ... as they are so appetizing!!! I am vegan so I chose a the Mediterranean salad without halloumi- I did that thinking that I would go home starving . Not a chance !!!! There was hummus, roasted chickpeas, salad , artichokes and pickled aubergines and courgettes... in plenty . A real fest! All the dishes came out to perfection, abundant and artfully presented. I forgot to ask about the pastry chef, as the puff pastry in the dessert is gourmet stars 🌟. The staff is attentive and knowledgeable. I would love to see a couple of added vegan dishes to the menu next time . We...

We went to MV on the 8th of May for lunch. It started off with having to wait some time for service and menus. We ordered drinks and decided what to eat. After another lengthy wait for the drinks we ordered our food, which this also took some time to be served. My husband went to see what was taking so long and notice that the gentlemen behind the pass was using this filthy cloth, which he also hangs over his shoulder, and proceeds to wipe down our plates with it. My husband ask him to please use a clean cloth when wiping down the plates. This gentlemen proceeded to shout at my husband and saying that he must not tell what to do and what you see is what you get! We were totally shocked by this outburst and behaviour. Unfortunately will not be going back because of this and also from a hygienic...

We're a resilient lot, South Africans. We've learnt to cope with the energy crisis (Eskom) with aplomb and none more so than the restaurant industry. There are ways to keep customers happy and well fed and 'watered', without restricting their choices too severely. Our server kindly informed us of what was available and not, and we could settle in to the bustling cafe rather comfortably. Breakfast is one of those meals that doesn't need much zhuzhing up, it's just well prepared ingredients plated so that you can see what you're eating. Which is why I found the yoghurt parfait (no granola on request) in a jar with a lid kinda amusing. I must mention that my rye toast took a few minutes to arrive after my full brekkies did, and I'm not sure why.

MV Café is the reliable go to restaurant in Northcliff that has a lovely relaxing vibe, beautiful views, amazing food and great service. Out of the 10 or so times I've been here I haven't been disappointed once, from small 2 seater tables to large crowds their food is consistent, on time, well priced and amazing. The menu has quite a large variety of menu items to cater for anyone and everyone and the options go from standard burger to unique and tasty dishes you just have to try. And apparently they have the best cake.

Friends took us to MV Cafe for lunch. It is advisable to make a reservation since it was quite busy when we got there. Waiters took our drink orders while we perused the menu. With quite a good selection of food, we opted for: Arabic Lamb & Aubergine Platter Hummis dip with roasted veggies Chicken livers pasta Junior breakfast Dagwood Calamari Good tasting food (surprised with the Arabic lamb & aubergine platter - loads of flavour). When I’m in the area, I will visit them again. Vegans will love this place.
