We made a point of visiting once a week for the amazing streak and copious amount of brandy. Allas new owner, that thinks this is Parrots. Gone is the special steak. You will note in the reviews, it’s the most loved (Was). In its place you now get a tough piece of meat plonked on your plate. Gone are the subtle hints of butter replaced by a strong hint of “meel”. That kind of taste you get when you leave meat in tenderizer too long. No doubt necessary to get this cheap slab of meat (cant call it steak) to resemble the tender steak of days passed. Gone too is the option of wedges made from real potato. Apparently too expensive, Replaced with….yes the all too common tasteless “overn chip” that lazy restaurants proliferate. I attach a foto so you can lose your appetite. Alas, Ridgebacks is no more. Note to new owner. This reminds one of Eskom. Steak Special: it is served dry-no more garlic butter,

no more Special Peri Peri sauce, just wierd tasting no name on bottle sauces(tomato flavor) offered.

To get an ice bucket. you need to buy4- even if you buy more than 6 drinks on the table, as long as they are different brands i.e you can't get your drinks in an ice bucket when the table orders 2 Savanna, 3 Brutals, 3Heinekens 3Flying Fish? You need to order 4 drinks of the same brand then an ice bucket will be included?

If it's summer/hot weather: flies will accompany you by force during your stay - no more insect repellent on tables.

It's always a vibe, and the prices are great.

I feel like the service has improved again.

They added gluten-free nachos to the menu, which we are very happy about! The only problem is, it seems like the cheese sauce has flour in, which defeats the whole point.

The cocktails need work, I ordered a watermelon cocktail that didn't taste, look, or smell like watermelon at all.

I love the vibe and the look of the place and have been going there for years! So I hope they never close. It's a great place to watch soccer. They have a jukebox and a few different food, drinks, and shots.

I've struggled with terrible service at Ridgeback. But it's mostly good, and our last waiter, Morgan, was incredibly fast, friendly, and on top of it! Leonard is also a great waiter, and we go here regularly.

The new manager is on top of everything, and im really impressed with dome of the renovations they made.
