This place is fast growing on me.

I've always driven past and made a mental note to try them out sometime, but just never did.

Then one Wednesday I found myself accidentally joining their quiz night and this has fast turned into a spot I love.

I read the reviews prior to posting mine and feel that the negative reviews ought to be taken with a pinch of salt. I've never had anything short of incredible service. It IS more of a rustic location, but it has such a great vibe.

I think some people struggle to measure themselves and their temper a bit and then nit pick in their negative reviews. We have to remember that these people are human, and unless they're going out of their way to provide awful service, it honestly wouldn't kill you to put out into the world what you hope to get back.

For me, personally, I have ZERO complaints and if I had any, I'm 100% confident that they would do whatever it takes to make amends and that's the actual definition of great service because no one is perfect, but this definitely not a location intended for the sour grapes of the world. Positive...

Many people rushing around, but no menus, no service, no drink refills. A group of what may have been the new owners seemed very pleased with themselves. Huge amounts have been spent on gigantic TVs and sound equipment, while the building has clearly been wiped over with a coat of paint, without tidying up the old tatty appearance. The place could have a rustic ambience, but some attention could have been paid to the gardens, building finishes etc. BRAAI DAY was being written on a chalk board as we arrived, so perhaps there wasn't going to be any other food. We eventually went inside to pay on our way out. Staff were excited about a band to appear later. We left to find a place with actual food and...

The Local Bar is a great vibe, even with the cold weather. Outdoor heaters are provided upon request. Servers are super amazing and attentive. Ample space if you bring the kids along. There’s a stage for performances and I’m pretty sure it lives up to expectation. Unfortunately the pizza was not to my liking, it was somewhat cold when it got to me. Got there just after 4pm so the drink were on happy hour special. Which was great! Played a little pool which one needs a R5 coin per game. Change is easily attainable from the bar counter.
