Bella Valle Ristorante — Restaurant in George

This restaurant used to be a favorite of ours, it had everything going for it: play area for kids, eclectic setting and ambiance, good pizzas, location. But unfortunately its being left to ruin (apparently due to lack of interest from the owner) and we will sadly never return.

Baby chair we've used before broke and they dont have one anymore. Lack of interest to keep things in good order (it was barely functional last time we used it actually). When we asked for a wine list, the waitress (who is visibly embarrassed by the way its been left to crumble) said they dont have most of the wine on the list, so rather she'd bring bottles of what they do have. She proceeded to bring 3 bottles of white. Thats it. 3. When I asked if they have spirits, she said no, only that wine and bottled Windhoek lager, no spirits. No other beer. We went at dinner time on a Friday night (peak time). While we were there there were only 3 other seated tables...Im told others have started to notice the sad state of affairs and even old regulars have stopped returning. No one came to pick up takeaways while we were there. Door from inside area to bathroom area is broken and cannot be used. Big sign on one bathroom area saying out of order, use next bathroom. Fireplace door stuffed with newspaper Pizza base had seemingly been frozen before being heated. Really really average pizza.

My suggestion to the owner is, allow someone new to take over and get it back to what it was or start paying some attention. Previously one could hardly get a table on a Friday night. Patrons vote with their feet and if you were present you'd notice its a ticking time bomb.

I will say they run quite a good special albeit for pizza that doesn't seem freshly prepared...we got 2 pizzas for R189.

This place is a real hidden gem in the heart ❤️ of plett on piesang Valley road next to GBC. The location is beautifully nestled in the plett basin and has a certain homely rustic charm to it. . The staff are super friendly and efficient . .and the service was good. . .

The pizzas have light thin crispy bases with adequate toppings that actually make it all the way to the crust... good job! Pasta was tasty and well portioned. . Brownie shakes were not overly sweet and were gemazing! A little thicker would be my preference. ..being their first fay open i must say they have done a great job all round and i see this as an awesome local and tourist venue. . .

Pricing was very reasonable
