Monet's — Restaurant in George

We went for breakfast on Father’s Day and it was such a disappointment. We’ve had previous wonderful experiences at Monet’s, but the last two visits have been well below the standard expected from Fancourt. On Father’s Day our table was dirty (caked on red sticky mess), I had to ask for crayons for my son to colour in his kiddies menu, the service was slow and inattentive (and it was not busy at 9:30 in the morning) and the food was just alright, nothing special. My husband had added an extra egg to his order which didn’t come with the food and he had to stop eating to wait for the extra egg to arrive (we had to remind the waitress a second time) before he could continue his meal. Monet’s seems to have been on a steady decline for at least the past year or so. Our second to last visit was a bland, forgettable experience to say the least. Most recently we booked a brunch outing for Fathers Day with a very disappointing result. The food has become bland, unimaginative and lacks any attempt at half decent presentation. Cutlery, tablecloths and furniture were dirty. Wait staff were inattentive and preoccupied with their own social chats with coworkers. Food ordered came out of the kitchen incorrect and cold.

Sadly, the once acceptable standards we were accustomed to at an establishment worthy of Fancourt have dropped to the point of being pathetic. One can find better food, service and cleanliness at a roadside filling stations fast food outlet.

Such a bad experience. Would never recommend to anyone. Only one thing was perfect and that was the view. I think we waited 1.5 hrs before our breakfast arrived and then one person's meal never came and we had to keep on asking for her meal. Food was cold. Eggs over cooked. Bacon tough. Sausages tastless and don't get me started on the price. Had to ask for cutlery, butter, honey and a jug of water we asked for when we arrived, finally after the third ask we got it about 20 mins before leaving.
