We came on Friday night happy hour specifically to sample some of Simons Bars well renowned cocktails. After reading the reviews and seeing the pictures of an extensive and varied cocktail menu (numbering maybe 8 + different drinks) we were extremely disappointed to find a menu consisting of 4 drinks only. The most exciting drink was there version of a sling with Grape fruit and Coriander however the rest were your run of the mill drinks not even an old fashioned to be seen.
The food was brilliant but unfortunately let down by a severally shrunk cocktail menu (See attached)
Update after seeing other people ordering frozen daiquiris and after asking what people were drinking our waiter told us that there are other drinks available they just are not on the happy hour menu.
The two drinks I had were:
Shaken Mojito
This was executed really well and was really well balanced between lime juice, syrup and the tequila. The only nitpick would be that it was not double strained and thus had lime pulp floating on the surface.
Grapefruit Coriander Sling

Read moreSimon’s Bar stands out as a gem for wine enthusiasts. This bar has an impressive selection of wines, showcasing a wide range of South African favorites and classics. The atmosphere is both cozy and stylish, making it an ideal spot for savoring a glass of wine while taking in the stunning views. I highly recommend taking place at the edge of the terrace, overlooking the spectacular view of South Africa’s landscape and mountains. However, for those primarily interested in exploring a sophisticated and diverse wine menu in a beautiful setting, Simon’s Bar is...

The Bangladeshi pizza had loads of avo, hardly any chicken, leeks that weren't caramelized, 3 small brown dry blobs my husband identified as the brinjal, and no trace of any form of chutney. It seemed as if very little time and effort was spent on its creation - ingredients carelessly and hastily thrown on with no regard to even distribution, except for the avo. Strange, because there were only a handful of diners. I'd say the kitchen staff needs a serious shake-up. Our...
