Okay. So. The place was mid. Our service was brilliant even though it was busy.
Aaaaaand maybe that's why the food sucked. I got a salmon poke bowl and some salmon sushi. The salmon was absolutely tasteless. And very mushy, I think it was frozen for a little too long. The poke bowl sauce SLAPPED though. So that was a plus. But I wouldn't get salmon there if I was you.
Other dinner guests with ne also didn't really love their food either. My friend's burger was not great, the buns didn't hold up long enough to make it to the table without being a freaking mushy mess too (I don't think they toast their burger buns), the patty was cold and tasteless, he said he had a better burger at spur earlier today, lol. Other guests in our party also didn't enjoy their sea food.
It was a busy time, so the indoors section was loud, but that's not the restaurant's fault. Just a warning to potential guests if you're looking for a quiet indoors dining area. You won't be able to have conversations with someone sitting more than one seat away from you.
This was just one single experience though. Another guest with us had been there multiple times before and said usually its better. But I can only comment from my own experience which was very disappointing after hearing good things.
However. End of the day. The view of the beach...
Read moreA stunning and modern venue still in keeping with a comfortable atmosphere and some splendid vistas of the beach and ocean. Tucked away from the bustling centre of Margate and Shelly Beach, a large venue with good parking facilities. There is a wheelchair/disabled accessible parking space but the ramp was a bit out of the way. A tremendously varied menu to suit every palate with some of the best Sushi that I have had the pleasure of sampling! We had a friendly and patient waitress who met us at the entrance and helped us to navigate through the plethora of menu options, good service is a rare thing and we appreciated that she was available but not constantly at the table. We didn't feel rushed at any point and one or two cocktails quickly turned into sushi and fries finished off with a gourmet milkshake.
The only criticism I had was that the beautiful "Death by Chocolate" milkshake; while beautifully presented with lots of nuts and wafers drizzled with chocolate sauce and accompanied with a brownie and cream & cherries, was a little thin and bland once you got through all the decadent layers. In summary, possibly the best eatery in the area, will...
Read moreI've been here maybe three years ago, so, I decided to take a scenic drive and visit. Again, not disappointed. Firstly, the location with those magnificent waves crashing close by, that's Amazing. This place is busy, patrons just constantly pitching up, but, all Covid checks and protocols are in place. The staff are great, there's just a seamless operation in place, very well organized and really pleasant and efficient staff. This place is a prime example of "Teamwork", the Management should be very pleased with their service levels. The beer is icy cold, just Perfect. I had a Steak, generous in serving with Chips and some complimentary Roasted vegetables that were really good. The meal on the whole was just Excellent. Several patrons ordered Sushi, it seems to be a favourite and by the looks of some of those Sushi servings, I can understand why, looks delicious. I would most certainly visit again when visiting KZN, this place leaves me feeling very happy and...
