It can be said that fine cuisine, is more art than science and that is most notable, with the presentation and taste that one can expect, when sitting down at Chef's On Marine.
Today was my third time visiting Chef's On Marine, and I can say with absolute honesty, that having eaten at a vast array, of restaurants and venues and having tried, a very wide selection of cuisine, from many notable establishments, within and outside of the South Coast.
Mr Andre Steenkamp, never fails to impress, with a beautiful deck area, overlooking the ocean, beautiful art to decorate the walls and some of, the best food I have ever eaten in my life.
His kitchen puts out perfectly balanced meals. with a level of care and attention to detail, in each aspect of each dish, that one simply does not see every day.
Individual ingredients are expertly balanced with each other, to provide more than just exceptional cuisine, but a journey through each layer of the food, that clearly takes genuine talent and evident care, to consistently deliver a top class dining experience.
I will lose no sleep tonight Rating, Chef's on marine a perfect 5 stars.
It's about more than just the food, it's the level of attention to detail, from perfectly done bacon, to imported french croissants and homemade Hollandaise Sauce, for the highly recommended eggs benedict, or the choice of ground steak and grilled emanthalle cheese used, in the American burger, which pairs perfectly, with a cup of their house blend coffee.
The most fitting description of the food is most probably... Elegant, well balanced and not unnecessarily complicated, but rather simply amazing.
the kitchens chef, Jacques and everybody working with him, clearly put genuine love and attention, into every level of detail.
The ever present Andre and his son Justin, watch over every detail to ensure nothing is anything but the best. Which is exactly what I have come to expect, when I sit down and have a menu handed to me.
The selection is exceptional, with a broad range to choose from, while not bombarding you with an overly complicated number of dishes, each meal is a specialised, selection of the finest and freshest ingredients, from the all day breakfast menu to international salads, such as the Waldorf or a mouth watering, sous vide roast, which is accompanied by vegetables and potatoes.
I applaud mr Steenkamp, for bringing his food to such a beautiful setting and offer, my personal thanks, for his unending hospitality and i dare even say friendship. As well as my eternal thanks, to him and everybody else, that can consistently deliver, such an easily recomendable, eating experience.
When dining at Chef's (as it is colloquially referred to, by many people) One can expect, nothing short of amazing. Amazing food, amazing quality and amazing hospitality.

Overlooking the gem-blue sea Chefs has everything from it's convenient location at Lifestyle Village Ramsgate, ample parking, space, comfortable seating, and of course the menu where food takes centre stage. Atmosphere comes from guests, their conversations, the clinking of glasses and cutlery. It’s a very relaxed environment. The staff are professional, presentable & happy - this is not just a job. The building & its tenants have the privilege of borehole water as well which is a huge advantage given the difficulties experienced in the area. Not to mention the difference to your coffee! I would recommend a seat to anyone from the hungry to those of us who have a predetermined set of expectations before they take a seat🤣

Read moreI have had the privilege and the pleasure of meeting with, working and dining with Cornelia the owner of, and Jacques the Head Chef of Chefs on Marine over the last few days.
You may be forgiven for thinking that I may be a little biased in writing this review and you could be correct if by appreciating good, genuinely interesting and interested folk, eating deliciously devine meals, being welcomed by the kindest of staff is being biased, then so be it.
The ambiance is superb, the view of the sea from the deck is sublime. The food is of the finest, not only on the Coast, but anywhere you could wish to compare.
I can wholeheartedly recommend Chefs to all who appreciate good food and the finest dining, and all of this at prices on par with all the other restaurants on the Coast.
