Boathouse B&B - BillsBest — Hotel in Hibiscus Coast Local Municipality

I wish i had something nice to say about this establishment, no water, no wifi although it was advertised as part of the package.

we had no shower, no water in the premises, save for the pool as the source. My daughter crowned it all when she got a tummy bug leaving us with the options: to risk our car getting into an accident whilst driving in a rush to reach the garage toilet when she needed to go. To got to the swimming pool to fetch water to flush negotiating the many stairs as our room was bit of a long way to the pool, risking harm on my body as well, and i was not well at all. Then we discover no toilet paper was in the room, i guess at this stage we felt like deserted souls.

I love Margate, no doubts but this one experience was a holiday made in hell.

Thanks to the lady who helped us water fetching trips when she could, most of the time we were on our own. Advice: please do not mislead the public with adverts that are far removed from the truth and experience

The only star is that we had a roof over our heads as opposed to sleeping on...

We have just stayed at the 'Weavers Nest' self catering part of 'The Boathouse'. It has a separate double bedroom with en suite, a very fully equipped kitchen, lounge area with TV, 4 seater table and an additional single bed. Price includes 1 hour servicing each day, which includes washing up. Furniture is a bit dated (except for bedroom) but in good condition. Easy walk to a beach (not the main one) about 100m. Only reason we have not given it a four, is that we nearly found to our cost that they do not replenish the toilet paper after the first roll. It did say that in the email when I reread it, but I misread it as toiletries. For that reason we will not be going again, even though pet friendly. We had a bird, but there is an enclosed garden so you could bring a dog. Even had a dog bowl in a cupboard. It's on a main road and had lots of vehicle noise. Think it was being used more than would warrant because it avoids having to pay the toll road which starts...

Enjoyed my stay over here. Breakfast biscuits and coffee enough for 2 guests were provided. The room was clean and there's a garage provided for each suite. Parking into the garage is quite a task for SUVs but it's possible. Hot water got finished i think due to loadshedding had a cold shower ( I recommend finding a solution to this ) the shower needs scrubbing it was mouldy, there are ants I threw some food on the bin and ants made their way to the bin i had to remove it and put it in garage. The air-conditioning works well so is the WiFi ( Password provided on leaflet in the room ) great view of the road. A candle, safe, mini first aid kit and towels are provided.
