The restaurant was quiet but we still ended up seating ourselves and were offered no menus for quite a while. Eventually someone did bring menus and we then waited another while for our order to be taken. Our order was then confirmed by two different people three times over a period of about 20 minutes. We went for the Sunday lunch special, they then told us they didn’t have a Sunday lunch special, so we said it’s on the board outside and they said no next week only (very suspicious) we decided to order a hake combo, after some waiting we received the wrong order (fried not grilled) we decided to just eat it any ways, for R115 it was the smallest fish i have ever seen in my life, and it didn’t include sauce, so we got some lemon butter for R18, which tasted like melted margarine and lemon juice, was very disappointed because I really loved the interior with all the beer cans...

It’s very difficult to screw up Fish and Chips, but this “restaurant” (I use the term very loosely) managed it. The fish was very soft, indicating old fish (definitely not fresh). The batter on the fish was soggy and the chips were soft and slimy, not crisp; both indications that the oil used to cook the food was not hot enough and the food wasn’t adequately drained after cooking.
