I had a very bad experience at this restaurant. I ordered the Eisbein with mash and sour krout. I asked for no basting sauce crispy. Well it was dead alright, to the bone as dry as a desert. I have a wheat allergy, i tasted the mash and immediately tasted the wheat powder in it, they served me smash (artificial mash). I could feel my skin reacting to the smash, burning and itching. I asked my husband to taste and he agreed that it was smash. We called the waiter to confirm and explained the allergy. He returned confirming it was real potato. Luckily i did not believe him and left the smash. I am still battling, days after to clear the reaction on my skin. The Eisbine was so dry and hard that i did not eat it and took it for a take away. The next day we tried to eat it but had to dump it as it was just too dry and hard. I do not recommend this restaurant due to my bad experience of their...
Read moreWe visited Siggi's in June 2021 and again in March 2023. Situated in Salt Rock on the North Coast what makes Siggi's stand out is the great German atmosphere and friendly staff. Obviously you must order some German Food here for that's what it is renowned for, Eisbein, Sauerkraut, Kassler and many other dishes are on offer. There is a big Bar area within the Restaurant so if you feel like pub and grub it's perfect. Yes there is a play ground area for the kids on the grass level and you can keep a close eye on them from your table. The massive variety of Beer 🍺 on offer is a must try. The only problem i would say was the service was a bit slow 🐌 but it could have been due to the place being quite packed. The food gets a high 4 star 🌟 rating. Would definitely recommend you...
Read moreThis was a great find a few years ago in Salt Rock. A German restaurant on the East Coast. We'll it really was one of our best finds in the area. So when I visited again recently I was delighted to find that they are still open. We visited on a Sunday and they were almost fully booked for Sunday lunch. But they made sure we had a good place to sit. The staff were exceptionally helpful and accommodating.
The food was some of the best German food I have had here in South Africa. The Eisbein is especially recommended but the Swiss Snitzel is also worth it. We could stop eating. They also had a fantastic German Beer on tap. I believe it was Erdinger Weissbrau. Do ask them and try it out, you won't be disappointed. Thanks again for all your assistance...
