We came from Johannesburg with family to celebrate my wife's birthday. As we walked in we were friendly greeted by staff and shown to our table on the deck. We ordered our drinks and had a nice chat between us while perusing the menu. 4 of the party opted for the buffet and myself for the chicken burger with chips. I specifically told the waitress no onion and that the chicken should be soft but still cooked. What I received shocked me because I never thought a chicken burger could taste so wonderful. The bun was so fresh and literally melted in my mouth and the garnish very crisp. The chicken fillets were so soft and succulent that I could cut it with no problem whatsoever. The chips were nice and crispy as I requested it and tasted soooo good. Most of the buffet food was just as good and tasty. Unfortunately you can't only receive the positives but should be able to take negative criticism as well. Both the chicken and the beef was too salty and had to be mixed with the veg to kind of balance out the saltiness. There were flies all over the dessert station and we had to swipe with the hands to get them off the fruit salad and pudding. Only 2 from our party got a piece of pudding as they did not make enough. R5 for a glass of tap water is ridiculous I would say even though we all had other drinks as well. The final thing I would like to mention which really upset us was that after we ordered our drinks we were informed they only had one can of coke left. I mean you run a restaurant...how do you run out of coke? Most of our party left their drinks because mixing with coke light did not go down too well. I suggest management invest in either nets to cover the desserts or small portable fans that swing to keep the flies at bay. Overall I'm happy with the experience and will try the breakfast...

I went to this restaurant for lunch yesterday, took a friend with me, I had a plate of fries 🍟 and my friend had a chicken and mayo toastie. I have some good and bad things to say.

BAD*

Fries: They only have it in small and large quantities, no medium which is disappointing. When I said I wanted the larger one as I hsd no idea how big it is, they brought my fries almost within 3min , the plate was HUGE I would guess about 5 potatos. I actually find it obnoxious, the waitress could've told me that this is definitely a plate for 5 people, she knew I only wanted something to munch, not devour because I'm starving. The oil they used for my fries was used to make russians and fish, as I could literally taste them on my chips, fairly gross.

Chicken & mayo toastie: My friend waited almost 40min for his toastie, meanwhile my food arrived within the first 3min of ordering, by the time the food came, the toastie was as dry as a dessert, honestly I dont know how a chef can send a basic chicke and mayo toastie looking like that, honestly a little more mayo couldn't kill.

GOOD**

Other than the food,... the service was amazing, there are almost 6waiters quick on their feet and friendly. The view is quite nice, its not too loud, they have a park for children with a bunch of sculptures they can climb on and play in the water ect. Definitely a place to bring your kids to. The coffee was kinda good, I had filter coffee. What I like about the coffee especially is yhe fact that it came on a custom made mini wooden plate with the restaurants name burned into it, very cute.

Overall this place is ok if you limited options to take your kids, I haven't had the best experience but I think I might give it another try sometime, hopefully have a...

We made a booking yesterday, showed up,started of with a waiter called Nelson.very rude and in a hurry.without even taking a drinks order for non alcoholic people food had to be order first 45 min before the time.had a chat with the waiter as my family complaint that he was very rude.Complaint to the owners wife and she kindly asked if she can change the waiter and I said no I chatted with him plus he was still young and learning.the food arrived Tomahawk asked medium rare got it salt less and cold. 3 other steaks 2 were rare and still frozen and one Medium rare that was acceptable. 1 oxtail like soup and tasting rice the kind you serve your dogs.soupy and tasteless. I got upset paid the bill without eating and left, and the manager/slash owner could even apologize properly.she made it well clear that she's the owners wife though. Bill was over R1200 without eating plus moral of the story a manager/owner that defends themselves when clearly your in the wrong should rather concentrate on criticism and approach the matter better. I will post this on all social media plus I stay in the area and I'm a business man,so will pass the bad review.will not recommend this restaurant to anyone. Your welcome to fhone me or make a appointment with me to discuss the matter further Kind Regards Roelof Bekker Sts...

The venue is FULL of potential, yet lunch was found lacking. Will pop past to try the breakfast, perhaps. Outdoor play area: Wondeful for the kiddies, and they enjoyed splashing in the fountains. Chicken Mayo on Ciabatta: Well priced, filling tastes great well seasoned; the "ciabatta" is definitely some kind of hybrid. Dish could do with something to make it less dry; more Mayo? Honey Mustard side sauce? Ploughman's platter: Goats milk cheddar was tasty, paired with the beatroot relish; however it did not come with 3 DIFFERENT cold meats, as was advertised, and that was the only reason for ordering the dish. Expected salami and prosciutto perhaps, for the price. Olives, other cheeses, and the rest of the meal are nothing to 'write home' about. Kiddies ham and cheese pizza: Decent portion of meat and cheese given, nice base; yet R70 is a bit over-priced. Waffle, ice cream, and syrup: Decent price for the portion, yet the Waffle mixture lacked salt, and the ice cream was not very creamy. COFFEE: Would've given a whole extra star had they used a better bean; Douwe Egberts bean just doesn't suit a "bistro" vibe. Naturally a bit bitter.

I like to go off the beaten track and find gems that are hiding in plain sight. Kremetart Bistro is such a gem and is a worthy trip off the track, a perfect destination for a micro adventure/day outing to the beautiful Hartbeestpoort area. Family orientated, it will cater to the needs of everyone in your group or family, regardless of their age. You will definitely not feel crowded in this spacious venue. Check out their FB page for the weekly specials. I had the hake and chips pensioners special that is served on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 11:00 - 16:00. As I am a pensioner, I had the privilege of enjoying their hospitality on a quiet, weekday late morning. The hake was perfectly grilled, whilst still moist and tender. I opted for the chips as side and then decided to add some veggies as well. Everything on the plate was delicious. The staff was courteous, efficient and did not hover, leaving me to myself to enjoy the peace and tranquility. While waiting for my food I watched a variety of birds at the pond next to the deck area. I am planning a return visit to enjoy their buffet breakfast and/or Sunday Lunch Buffet.

The service is appalling I took my mom there for the first time in six months just to spend time with her, walked in there excited but there was no one welcoming us there was no sanitation. We asked them if she can have the fruit salad and the waiter said no as we were half an hour late for breakfast, I asked for something extra on my rye bread and he came back and said they very strict and don't allow it. So I just told our waiter to get me the bill as it was one of my worst dinning experiences I have had in a long time. I was here 6 months ago and the service was completely different on a positive note What went wrong??
