We came to Mugg n Bean Islands on the 8th July for food n hot beverages and we were served burned food not once but over and over again. The general manager,Grace, very very rude! Screaming with the waiters on the floor! Saying all vulgar words! Walking with her hanging pants and hands in her pockets! Did not even bother to come ask us if we were served fine. She instead attended customers behind us for 20 full minutes as if we were invisible! And it wasn't for the first time,she did that twice already a while ago! And their conversation wasn't even about food and service, it was based on her salary and the bad treatment she's receiving from the owners. On our first visit, she was screaming her lungs out from the bar shouting and pointing at the waiter that was at the door,which was very very irritating! We did not enjoy our stay, instead packed our food in take away n left. Very bad manager u got! If she screams that way to the waiters how are they suppose to focus onto what they're doing. The second visit we asked specifically to speak to her but she sent someone else and not that she was busy yet again she was screaming her lungs out shouting and pointing at the waiter with her hands inside...
Read moreI have found myself a little family, who have been nothing but understanding kind, and always so accommodating . This has become my little office and place of sanity. I work 100% remote so have little interactions with peoples, except all the Waiters and Waitress at the shop . Grace the Manager is beyond amazing, helpful always making conversations and catching up . The team knows my order as I walk in, and also know when to bring my cuppa chino and what time. Elvis and Bongani, are amazing , know the menu and their service is always amazing . Khomotso lettie and Lucy and Mavis , one big customer centric team .
On the rare occasion, where I have been unsatisfied with my order , they have been understanding, taken it back and gotten it fixed, what I enjoy is that there will never say " the meal is on us". It is the principal that lets fix it until you are satisfied. This team is not a team that is tip crazy. The smile is always there, as their service is not based on them getting a tip, but going the extra mile and offering a new service.
There is a new waiter and he is ever so pleasant as he is being trained and learning from the best.

Potential scam: When I eventually asked for the bill the waitress immediately came over with two pre-prepared invoices…. and a story. One invoice was ours and one wasn’t. She then explained that she had accidentally rung one of our drinks to another table, so she manually added it by pen to our invoice and asked us to pay the new hand written total. I refused and asked her to print a new correct invoice (which she then did). I’ve seen waiters do this before to pocket a larger amount as “tip”, even though it is in fact the restaurant’s money for goods provided.
