V8 Roadhouse — Restaurant in Madibeng Local Municipality

We are new to town and on our first visit we ordered milkshakes over lunch on Sunday. It was delicious and the diner atmosphere pleasant, service was quick and friendly. Due to this experience we decided to grab a quick take away Tuesday evening.

Worst decision ever and due to this experience we won't be visiting again. Worth 0 stars.

The carpark were flooded with loud staff shouting, swearing and smoking outside amongst diner guests, close to the diner area where you leave you car windows down. Our waitress was friendly and professional (no problem with her), you could see she was running up and down serving to her best ability, constantly checking in with us etc. We ordered 2x soda fountains and 2x hotdog rolls (seemed like a quick option). 2 cars stopped quite a while after us (about 15-20mins) and both ordered grill items and quite big orders which would take longer than our rolls. Anyway, long story short, both cars got their BIG orders and wheeled away with ourselves STILL waiting. We could see our waitress was becoming anxious and came to apologize stating it will be ready soon, constantly going to the kitchen and speaking with the chef. I don't know what was happening in your kitchen but turned out they ignored that order, I could see tension between the waitress and cook, as she went to ask numerous times for updates on our food. By this point we have been waiting 45 mins... I was ready to ask for a refund and go somewhere else. Our rolls eventually came and it was horrific, as if it was forgotten in a corner. Our chips were cold and oily, our rolls were soggy and the wors as cold as the chips. As mentioned I don't know what the problem was in your kitchen as the waitresses are all up to standard, but due to your kitchen staff I won't be returning to your diner.

What a disappointment! In winter time they have gas heaters, but when we asked if they can please turn it on "no gas" okay can we go sit outside in the sun "no tables are booked" okay do you have blankets "no we don't" We were freezing cold, when we order coffee we only received a small cup for R38! Nevermind the price, the coffee was ice cold even asking for hot milk. I phoned to ask about the buffet, price was R245 per person, all types of meat, starches, vegetables and pudding.

When I asked the waiter again just to confirm the buffet information we were informed that the price are R255 and the buffet is only 2 pieces of each meat, and you can only choose one starch and veggies, no pudding. When I informed the waiter that I phoned 2 days earlier, he said "the prices changed"!

I ordered the roadhouse brekkie for R80. Oh my word when it hit the table I was disappointed, I was so hungry already waiting so long to get some food. My food was ice cold and the portion was so small, I got a 8cm frankfurter, a little bit of chips, 2 pieces of bacon and 2 eggs and 1 slice of toast, I was left hungry.

Other family members had to order extras on their breakfast as it was such a small portion.

Some ordered eisbein, that thing was so hard you will break your teeth! The sauces was not even filled and the waiters kept on taking our sauces of the table to give to other people.

And as I looked around me at the other tables I could see that the people was not happy!

You seriously need to look at your waiter training and your prices vs portions! Total rip off.

This is the worst service we have received from a Restaurant!! I will never go there ever again, and will not recommend anyone to this place. Our waiter had the worst attitude, telling us we cannot order 1 drink at a time as he is not going to walk up and down and the bar is very busy. Had my son's birthday party here, had a big table of 30 adults and 8 kids, we only had one waiter. The hosts (myself) had a separate bill with all the other guests sharing one bill as they don't do split bills!! What a disaster that was... The manager was just as useless!! Did not even apologize once. We waited forever for drinks, some we did not even get but was charged for them. Not to even talk about how long we waited for food. The very last person got his food about 2 and a half hours later and he was the first to order. We had to go through all the slips 4 times with the waiter after paying as he had difficulty tallying all the slips and payments because THEY DONT DO SPLIT BILLS!! Incompetent bunch which is such a shame as it's a nice venue. Our kids did not even get their ice cream which was included in the package, such a let down. Worst service ever and they have the audacity to charge a 10% service fee and for what?? For me too go look for our waiter, then the manager, constantly follow up on our orders just to hear it's coming.. No thank you, will take my business...
