I placed an order from Steers Montague Gardens today at 09:36 which was accepted by the store. Round about 10:00 I decided let me check my app to track the order to which the app suddenly couldn’t show the status of my order or whether it had been collected for delivery by the driver.
With no correspondence from the shop or way to see what’s the status on the order I called to verify with the shop if all was still in order at 10:14 to which the lady named Nancy who answered advised the driver has the order in hand & is on his way. To my delight I thanked her & let her know I’d be on standby. At 10:40 I remembered my order STILL hadn’t arrived so at 10:45 I called the shop again to ask what’s the issue as it’s now been just over an hour for a very small order that I’ve ordered for delivery from other branches that never take this long; Nancy regurgitated the same information & when I probed this she remained firm on her stance even after I’d pointed out she’s being caught in her own lie, repeating that the driver had just picked up the order & is on his way. I couldn’t believe that a customer service consultant would blatantly LIE to a customer. I didn’t appreciate the runaround & told them to cancel my order, call the driver to let him know to not make the delivery (if it will ever come) and that I’ll never order from the...

With 4 Staff there only, 1 seems to tend the till and serve customers, while the others sit on their phones.
Order was simply 4 x ice creams, somehow they ended up serving the people behind me with a similar order first, and then the machine ran empty on the 4th one, so they couldn't complete my order. Asked for a very simple cash refund, as I paid in cash, for the remaining ice cream that couldnt be produced that equated to only R15, out of principle, its not about the amount, if you order 4 items and only get 3, why must you pay for 4! This would not of happened to my order if they served in correct sequence of orders as well!
It took almost 20 minutes to give me my money back on something they couldnt serve! The staff needed to contact for authorisation offsite for such a trivial refund R15!

Read moreUpdate on this and I would not recommend this place at all got a takeaway from there again on Wednesday 8tj November and to say the service was diabolical had to wait 10 mins before even being acknowledged even though it was all ordered online for collection the three people behind the counter was ignorant only acknowledgement me after I losty temper. Then the food where do we start was it even beef I don't know my wife was extremely ill after wards an she oy eat half of the burger anf complained that it didn't taste like the normal king steers burger she has had before the meat was very dense and had a strange taste not off just odd. Only reason I didn't go back to the store in Montague Gardens was one it was late and two we was flying back to the UK the following morning.
