Gossip Corner — Restaurant in Overstrand Local Municipality

We are so happy that this restaurant is in Rooi Els, it is hands down the best local restaurant and one of our favourites in South Africa!

The team are always so so friendly and accommodating and the service is great. The food is superb and exactly what’s needed in the local area - fresh delicious food and great wine! The prawns are to die for but every time I come I am always tempted by everything else too!

Cute deli upon entrance too with a selection of local delights. And the whole restaurant feels well thought out and the decor is lovely and very tasteful.

Would rate 10 stars if I could. All of our family loved this restaurant just as much as us when we brought them here!

This newly opened Restaurant is worthwile a visit. Alot of time is spend in the planning of the interior of this restaurant.The positioning of the windows emphasis the view of the Kogelberg mountain. The iron artwork, the view of the heart of the restaurant, the kitchen, the Churchill dinnerware, the cutlery and the fine, elegant wine glasses make it a special experience. The staff friendly, professional, the food great well presented. Thanks to the chef! You have a choice, ground floor or upstairs! Parking on-site, may be more bays are needed. Chunky chips may be? It was rather disappointing. We stopped mid morning, on Sunday, for breakfast. It was not busy and we chose a table upstairs. Our server was fabulous, when present, which wasn't often. I have never understood why service is slow and disjointed when there are fewer tables to look after.

When you pay R145 for the Gossip breakfast, you expect to get something amazing. Yes, the menu did say a cheese griller and that's exactly what I got. The bacon was good quality, the scrambled eggs generous and the mushrooms delicious.

My partner had the Roosterkoek breakfast. The Roosterkoek was bland and one end was rock solid and completely stale.
