We discovered water or juice in our cheese pots/containers, and when we brought it to the waitress’s attention, she acknowledged that something was there but never returned our cheese or provided any feedback when we enquired. There was also no visit from a manager to offer an explanation.
The food itself was average at best. The bacon was over-charred and tasted old, likely from being kept in a warmer instead of freshly fried. There was also inconsistency—some pieces were burnt to the point of resembling crisps, while others were soft.
The scrambled eggs weren’t much better. They were watery, with visible egg whites that hadn’t fully cooked. I don’t mind a soft scramble, but scrambled eggs shouldn’t have distinct egg whites.
This was my second visit after 2 years in hopes the beakfast would inspire improvement without success, and as a family of eight, we all agreed that the breakfast was disappointing. I really love the venue i just hope yhat eiyh the limited breakfast menu, you’d expect the food to be exceptional. I even tried ordering two different dishes, but the banana loaf was also underwhelming.
That said, we’ve visited for lunch before, and some of the lunch options...
Read moreOur first visit to Lizette's was enjoyable. The interior is very attractive, the staff are friendly and attentive and the menu, Asian inspired, was interesting. I enjoyed the panko crumbed prawn starter with nori mayo. The nori mayo was very savoury and it was a relief to dip a prawn in the dipping sauce that came with the 3 pork spring rolls, which were crispy and tasty. My 'seafood' laksa was heavy with coconut milk and a short on spice/flavour. There were 5 mussels, some small tender hake pieces and two small prawn dumplings, I would have preferred the prawns on their own for a 'seafood' hit rather than the dumplings but perhaps if the base had been more spicy/complex this would not have mattered. My husband really enjoyed his stir fried beef luc luc but would ask for it with rice rather than the standard French fries. The cappuccino was excellent. We will return and taste some...
