I bought a Jalapeno burger on the 12th May 2023, from the Vredenburg, West Coast McDonalds branch. Since the McDonalds opened in December 2022, I have been supporting the branch at least once a week as a local resident, as I want to see businesses in my area thrive.
I ate the Jalapeno burger and had terrible food poisoning, that lasted in deterioration in health between the 12th and 19th May.
Since the above I went twice to the McDonalds branch in person to complain and they've done nothing about it. The first time I went into the branch, post the food poising the manager on-site took my receipt, wrote my number, and has still not contacted me. She refused to return my receipt, and insisted on keeping the receipt, and writing my number on the receipt. She could have written my number on any paper?
The second time I went to ask for a resolution, the staff ignored my presence and did not serve me and was disrespectful. I managed to get a staff members attention (eventually). While speaking to the staff member, this person communicated Inspectors from the head office were on site, and asked me to speak in a hush tone, and not to complaint as head office was in, and didn’t want alarm bells.

You have to wait for ages in the drive-through most times, the staff are not always the friendliest, just a handful that are, and know what they are doing, so either they are not trained correctly or have a don't care attitude. The quality of food is not always the freshest. Among other items, I bought a Mc Krispy burger. Sad to say the fillet was half burnt and hard to chew as it was over-fried, a few of the chips for the other orders were forgotten, and we had to drive back for it. Management needs to either look at themselves and where you are lacking in their staff's work, so slapdash dash, or look at their staff to retrain them. I payed for the order and on collection they only give me on double cheese burger. I told the lady the order is wrong. She just said move around and i ask for what. No there was a misunderstanding with the order taker.. i told them that is not my mistake. If the manager told, move to die parking lot and came pay for the extra burger, i will do that with no problem. So they called security and i told the security they didn’t take my order correctly.
