We booked and confirmed a birthday function a few months ago and discussed all to be done. 2 days before the event, issues arose and JD had all excuses to NOT do the function. This was extremely upsetting as a lot of money and work had gone into prepping from our side. After alot of to and fro messages, he finally albeit reluctantly, sent an invoice the night before our function, which we paid immediately. Upon arrival to do the decor, we found that he was having a group braai and nothing had been prepared from his side, as agreed initially, and we personally prepared the venue, moving and storing chairs and tables as well as sweeping, etc. Certain items that were meant to be there were also now suddenly nowhere to be found. He, not once, acknowledged our presence! Upon contacting JD numerous times for his personal help with the speaker, he rudely stated that these were stupid students and arrived to attend to this without the decency of greeting or even a wave. What an obnoxious person! This venue was not MY choice but my daughter's and we will NEVER return. The place is looking ragged and needs serious TLC. The staff on duty at our function made a big difference but NEVER have we felt so unwelcome or did we deserve to be made to...

We BOOKED a table for 11 people for fathersday and when we arrived one half of our table was given away to people who didn't have a booking.

Then the table they gave as wasn't plated nor was there any chairs. After 13min, i went in to ask for chairs after which i was told:"they're busy, we'll sort you out in 5 minutes time." Eventually me and my brother-in-law had to get our own chairs.

Even though they have a beautiful landscape we were left to sit in the hot afternoon sun, with no sun umbrella.

After 25 minutes the sum total of service we received is 2 menu's and 6 empty vine glasses. No orders taken. No apologies. No "what do you want to drink or eat".

Finally, we left after 30 mintues to Slayley, a restaurant not to far down the road where we received excellent service and...

I attended an even there this past weekend and although the outside atmosphere is reasonably nice, the inside is dark and a bit cramped. Once inside the venue I was greeted with the view of a closed tampon on the windowsill. I'm al least thankful that it was still closed, but should that be the standard by which I measure cleanliness? I could possibly look past that if the food had been good, but it really wasn't, boiled flavourless chicken, flavourless lamb totally flavourless salads.
