It was extremely hot on the day we decided to go strawberry picking at Mooiberge!! But the absolute joy on both my boys faces made me man up and join in in their excitement. The strawberry picking is fun. Theres tons of strawberries and you pay per punnet that you picked. Kids love this type of activitiy. However do it when its not so hot as you will be outside in the boiling sun like we were. After picking strawberries we went to get something to cool down from the Padstall. Everything is fresh and clean. The padstall has a HUGE selection of dried fruits and nuts so anybody that loves that type of snack would enjoy it tremendously. We were in heaven. Then the padstall also carries a HUGE selection on local and international wines. They probably have the biggest wine selection we have seen and we live in the winelands of SA. We are not wine drinkers but one can appreciate the effort the owners put in to grow their selection as huge as it is. They also have a personal winetaster which will help you with your search for the perfect wine. Really nice. A must for any wine lover.

A lovely place, because of scenery my place of choice on our recent breakfast outing. I however, was unimpressed by two things: the waiter's (TS Colin) comment that he said out loud on the opposite side of where our table was and, the meal. I'll talk about my breakfast choice last. My husband ate slowly, I ate at a pace as I just wanted to get it over with. For the waiter to mention, "oh wow, you ate faster than your husband" left quite a bad taste. If my husband ate faster than me, for whatever reason, would there have been any mention of it? Secondly, I did not enjoy the meal which was strawberry French toast, and I just wanted it down without a scene. Thank heavens I am not overweight, I can only imagine what such a derogatory comment may have meant to other people.

Worst service ever. Since there’s a bunch of things to do around this place we wanted to do strawberry picking, buy few wine bottles then go down to Route 44 for lunch but our day was spoiled by unwelcoming and very rude staff/owners. We went to get wine, the old lady there was staring, asking questions which made me so uncomfortable and annoyed. We try to do our business, ended up getting few bottles. The restaurant area was even worse, we just decided to walk away in peace. Don’t think I will ever visit this place, would recommend Polkadraai Farm for strawberry picking.

I am a student and I live in the city. My gran came to visit us and to drive all the way to this farm costs a lot of petrol, but I knew it would be worth it since my gran might not get this opportunity again and picking strawberries at this farm is what she really wanted to do.

I called in the morning and a gentleman answered and assured me that I can come in today so I knew driving all this way would be fine.

I arrived and spoke to the manager (Sophia) and she informed me that I can only come in on Thursday. I was naturally really confused and upset as I planned ahead money and time wise and was reassured that I would be able to do this today. When I explained to the manager that this is not okay and I’m worried that other people are going to call and have the same problem she was abrupt and rude towards me.

I don’t like to be rude to people and I said to her that I feel like she is angry towards me when all I’m trying to do is reassure that this does not happen again and also to speak about the fact that it cost money and time for me to do this and she said, “I understand but you’re going on and on about this”

I was mortified with this service and I hope, truly that this review makes an impact as nobody deserves to be treated the way that I had been.

To end this review on some sort of a positive note, when I had asked her what can be done as I came all the way here, she gave me some strawberries for free, although sadly she said “okay so you want something for free then take the...

I will never eat here again. Service was putrid, food below average. Firstly, the chef messed up the orders and it took over an hour to get our meal. When it finally arrived the spicy beef nachos, which I ordered came ice cold. And my wife's wrap came deconstructed which was not what she ordered. I sent my nachos back, the chef removed the guacamole and sour cream and probably warmed the nachos however when I received it, it was still cold. Of you expect them to redo the meal, dont hold your breath, they will take it back, panel beat it and serve you and unappetizing messed up meal.My wife ordered a wrap with avo and they were to lazy to place the avo in the wrap. It was sent back and it looked like avo was stuffed in from the front. I could not palette my meal because the cheese and cold spicy beef was extremely fatty so after 2 mouths, decided to do a take away. Not knowing whether I will eat or throw it away. Well guess what, to the bin it went. If it's not good enough for me, it's not good enough for anyone else All together, a really pathetic experience, and my mother's birthday spoilt. By the way, our complaint to the manager was ignored, no apology by the manager or anyone else. If you going to give me a free meal, give me whatever. If I am paying,, please give me what I have paid for. Absolutely pathetic all round service. It's a pity! If you looking for a good meal that is well priced, definitely not...

Great farm. Horrible owner. This was the second time we visited the farm and we picked as many strawberries as we liked the first time as we had seen many of the other visitors of the farm do after we bought the strawberry containers you need to purchase. The second time we visited we did as we had seen previously by picking and putting in a plastic bag. The car guard ran to the owner after seeing this and said we were stealing strawberries which we were not. We then returned the next round of the strawberries we had picked with no hassle. The owner instead of letting us know that we are not officially allowed to do and telling us to leave the premises with the strawberrys we had already picked ,he confiscated the already picked strawberries and caused a huge scene calling us thieves and refusing to believe that we did not know ,when we asked calmly for him to explain to us the procedure since we had a different understanding of it ,he continued to shout at us , using vulgar language ("bullsh*t" was what he said). He then proceeded to call security on us as if we were being hostile towards him which was actually the other way around. Very unfortunate experience for a place that should be holding itself to a more professional standard. I highly recommend you think twice about picking strawberries here. You do really do pick at...
