The Cellar Door at Jordan — Restaurant in Stellenbosch Local Municipality

The setting is beautiful, however the service was poor. Upon arrival we got passed on to 2 different people until some one was half willing to assist us. We requested outdoor seating, but we were told there’s no space and there no tables opening up. As the woman said that, there was a table that became available behind her. She was dismissive and unwilling to accommodate us. Once seated we waited for menus until my husband had to get up and get them himself. There are specific times of when you can order breakfast and when you can order lunch. This is fine, however we had to enquire about the options in between breakfast and lunch as no one had still bothered to come check on us. The food was good, a bit over priced but good nonetheless. Jordan Wine Estate is a beautiful and relaxing location, and I’ll recommend their restaurant if you visit this site. The food quality is excellent, and the views are beautiful. However, I can’t give them 5 stars, because of service quality. The waitpersons are excellent, but I give a low rating for the service for the management policy; we were not allowed to sit by the empty tables facing the pond(as you would see from my photos), as they claimed it’s reserved. We spent over an hour at the restaurant, and no one came to those tables, which one can only conclude it’s reserved for certain people. What a beautiful gem. Loved the drive in seeing all the animals and appreciated the rawness of the road and land... made us feel like we were going somewhere exciting... and exciting it was. Staff was so friendly... lived the bakery entrance door way, French toast option was the best I've had. Lovely, cosy seating with a beautiful view, even on a rainy day. Walked around the property and it was beautiful... as an event planner enthusiast... I could think of so many wonderfully events held here.
