Maggie's Chinese Restaurant & Sushi Bar — Restaurant in Weltevredenpark

At first I was super upset that only one of the four items I ordered was delivered and wrote a review based on how disappointed I was. However, I based my review on this one time I ordered and it was incomplete and not on my previous order that was impeccable and the food was just WOW!!

Mistakes happen, I was just upset that the situation could not be rectified right at that moment and we had to drive around to find other food (something healthy and open), as I didn't have anything in the house really as I was barely at home this week.

We did find a nice salad at the garage and I came back to edit my review.

Everything also happen for a reason, maybe I would have choked so bad on the sushi I so dearly wanted...We will never know :)

The food is horrible, everytime we order we are served less then the previous times. This time after putting the food in the fridge to eat it 5 hours later, it had gone off, smelt terrible and very sticky. The sushi is worse, it has been served smaller portions then before and the colour looks off. We have tried many Chinese places but golden rose, kung fu kitchen and good chef are far better options and worth your money. The teller has a terrible attitude, never smiles and cannot talk properly, always on her phone and does not provide good customer service at all. When the chefs bring your food they do not know the type of meat for eg: I have ordered duck and when she brought it, she said here is your beef chow faan. I will never return at this place ever! Horrible last...

I consider myself a lover of good things and this place makes my list of good sushi restaurants. The establishment itself is not necessarily a place where I would sit down to dine, however as a take out joint, it serves its purpose. The sushi was super fresh and tasted quite yummy which was a nice surprise. They could do with a little work when it comes to presentation as not all of the pieces were super neat and 'tight'. The service is super friendly and the guy who works there is really helpful (Which, in my experience of Asian restaurants is a first). Also, they have a buy one get one free special running, which is what had me sold in the first place! Real value for money.
