A few weeks ago we went Boeretroos for breakfast and had a lovely time. We thought for Mother’s Day we would bring our mom here to spoil her with the relaxed atmosphere and good food and service. THAT WAS UNFORTUNATELY NOT THE CASE AT ALL!!

Firstly when I called to make my booking, nobody mentioned that the full menu will not be available because there were other items we were actually interested in from the main menu.

Then after over 2 hours our food was still not at our table. We followed up with the waitress and kept getting feedback that there is a delay in the kitchen. The same with our coffee order that was still not there 45min later with a comment the barista is very busy.

Eventually we followed up with the manager because one of our party of 5 is diabetic and have to follow a strict eating regimen and only then they realized that somewhere someone LOST OUT MEAL ORDER which is why nothing was delivered to our table yet.

When the order eventually came, the extras that was requested was not included. We asked the waitress about it who said she will follow up and come back to us and after paying and having left we still haven’t had feedback from the waitress.

The same can be said from the tables around us. Everyone had issues with incorrect food being delivered to their table or just not getting their meals hours later.

With a smaller, set menu for Mother’s Day you would expect the kitchen to be better prepared and get the food out quicker than usual.

The entire team was clearly unprepared for a big day like today and everyone seemed like they couldn’t give a hoot because despite follow ups, we could see people leaving without eating anything.

To top it all off, after losing our ticket and then having to reorder our food, they double charged us for the food and this too had to be fixed.

JUST A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE OVERALL and I honestly don’t even know if I wanna go back there again or if I would ever recommend them to...

Boertroos has moved to a bigger farm premises a while back and is well settled. They are constantly working to improve an already winning recipe for which I applaud them.👏 We would definitely recommend you to visit them!

Why the visit? Hearty food with amazing kid centered activities: mini-train ride, pony ride, farm animals to feed, jumping castles and slippy slides (during summer). The ideal place if you want an outdoor picnic/farm atmosphere with very friendly staff.

Areas to improve: *Wheelchair accessibility: outside bathrooms aren't wheelchair friendly - please note that I never enquired if there is a bathroom inside that is? I would encourage wheelchair users to phone ahead and enquire. The gravel parking is compacted enough for wheelchair use and cars can be brought right up to the entrance. While the petting zoo and certain outdoor areas would be difficult to access with a wheelchair, I know that they would go out of their way to put a table inside and bring the rabbits to you! Please just ask them and I'm sure a wheelchair user would be able to enjoy all that Boeretroos has to offer.

*Vegetarian/Vegan options: these menu options are few, but the staff are more than willing to accommodate by adding/replacing ingredients. There is a vegan curry and lovely roosterkoeke as well as a chicken salad (just ask to replace the chicken). I didn't see any dairy-free milk options, but didn't ask.

The new premises isn't far from the old one and requires a short drive on a dirt road onto the farm. They also have a shop inside selling lovely gifts and...

Tons of entertainmenThe kids had a ball of a time. You hosted another huge party of what looked like 40 kids but the service to our party was excellent - had no impact on us. I had no idea what the setup was going to look like because of the last minute venue change but it was perfect - the covering helped keep the wind at bay as it was quite windy when we arrived. The kids loved feeding the activities - feeding animals, giving animals milk; slip n slide, jumping castle, trampoline and horse ride. The tables were perfect and allowing me to come in early to set up worked out perfectly. The option of allowing adults to order pizza for the tables was perfect. You allowed us to bring our own bday cake and cupcakes with no cake charge. Everyone was very impressed with the venue and hopefully you gained some new clients now as well.  Even though you closed at 4 the kids did not want to leave and we sat around until 5. My daughter forgot her backpack with her phone but everything was found safe and nothing missing. I was not going to mention but when I parked when I arrived was in front of what looked like the railway tracks for the train and the metal thing it was standing on had a protruding metal thing that is not easy to see and it damaged by bottom black trim at bottom of car. Perhaps put a colourful ribbon or something so its easier to see. My daughter had an amazing day and all her friends were smiling all day long. They at school today and everyone will be talking about the party Thank you so much for hosting us t...

Truly a great family place. Currently under new management. The food is great. The coffee is 100%. They sell food in buckets to feed the animals. Nice variety of animals for the children. Indoor and outdoor seating area. On Sunday's they currently have live music. The guy who sang was not bad at all There is even a jumping Castle for the kids. I only found one thing annoying. The parking. Plenty of parking on site. We arrived early and parking was empty But when we left we were parked in with vehicles who parked next to boundary wall directly behind us. They have a person who's duty it is to assist with getting you out. But due to them not having clearly marked parking they don't know when they are full and let more people enter. They end up parking vehicles close to one another which makes it harder to deal with vehicles parking behind you as you can't turn more due to proximity of vehicle next to you. But being e got out. Bit of a bitter after taste but all in all a great place. Next time I might park outside venue.
