Icons Restaurant at Cape Town Airport is Located conveniently within the airport, it provides a welcome respite from the hustle and bustle of travel.

The ambiance is modern and inviting, with a sleek design that combines comfort and style. The seating is spacious, allowing for a relaxed meal even during busy travel times. The large windows offer a view of the airport activity, which adds an interesting dynamic to your dining experience.

Service was attentive and efficient, which is particularly appreciated in an airport setting where time can be tight. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu, ready to make recommendations based on dietary preferences.

One minor downside was the pricing; while not overly expensive for an airport restaurant, it was slightly higher than what you might find outside the airport. However, considering the quality of the food and service, it felt justified.

Icons Restaurant also offers a good selection of drinks, including local wines and craft beers, which are perfect for unwinding before a flight.

Overall, Icons Restaurant is a fantastic option for travelers passing through Cape Town Airport. With its delicious food, pleasant atmosphere, and attentive service, it’s a great way to kick off or wind down your journey. I would definitely recommend stopping by if you have time before...

DESERVES ZERO STARS

Absolutely abysmal service. Whisk you away from the bar telling you to sit down as it’s table service, but NO ONE comes. I never received a menu, I had to take one from the register myself. Then no one came to take my order. I waved 2 people. Neither came. I got up and asked someone. Still no one came. I went to the bar myself to order my soft drink because I lost all faith in the entire service team. Then their card machine kept disconnecting and failed twice. I gave up. Such a complete joke. Never in my life have I had such atrocious service. And I’ve travelled around the world.

I’m typing this seated in their area. Almost 1 hour and not 1 service person has realised I’m here. Indescribable incompetence.

ZERO STARS. I’ve never written a negative review in my life on any platform. But this place deserves the first.

Edit: 70mins. It took 1 hour and 10mins and 90% of the restaurant to leave for someone to ask if I wanted to order something. No thank you. My flight departs within the hour and I presume it will take at least 1 hour to walk a sprite from one side of the room...

Disgusting restaurant. I am not sure where to start. This is the only restaurant within the international departures area so I guess you have no choice but to eat here… I waited at the podium and got seated almost immediately. The restaurant is not crowded at all and there are plenty of servers/waitress walking around aimlessly. I browse through the menu for about 5-7 minutes and then close it as I know what I want. I waited 20minutes with no service, just the servers looking past me or looking me up and down and continuing to serve others nearby. Disgusted with this disregarded treatment I got up and walked out. They have a “convenience like” store next door with smoothies and small wraps. I decided to buy a smoothie and a pre-packaged croissant. I finally get to my gate and start eating the croissant while scrolling on my phone. I looked down into the croissant to see that there was MOLD inside the croissant. I was horrified, this place is truly disgusting. The people are arrogant and the service was underwhelming. Please strive for better. And DO NOT DINE OR EAT...

The food is okay, there are very little vegetarian options (veggie wrap and pizza) but I wouldn’t rate it bad for that The staff were so so bad at doing their job The place wasn’t even 20% full and there were so many waitresses all around, but it took me 5 minutes to go and get the menu myself, they never look your way unless you wave, even when they do, they’ll wait to see your waitress nearby and won’t bother coming themselves or looking for her I ordered a pizza and a smoothie, the smoothie was nice but it took about 15 minutes to get it. Getting the pizza took about 10 minutes more, the pizza is okay, but it really feels like a dough base you buy at the supermarket, and not a good one. They use plastic cutlery, and plastic straws. Even though the plate and the glass are permanent, so they have a dishwasher Very poor restaurant, unless you have lots of time to burn, just buy a snack somewhere. They do have plugs for charging everywhere though

Where do I start....the issues with the international flights is that this is really the only restaurant, apart from a small sushi place, thus maybe the lack of competition causes such "taste". I ordered lamb chops: very fatty, left more than half ot it on the plate, served on old spinach leaves that were already going bad. The Greek salad: lots of lettuce and just a few ingredients, the feta cheese tasted like the expiry date was just around the corner for it. My partner ordered the half chicken: very dry, the fries were more moist....Plastic cutlery, for us it was a first at an airport. I was also served with a dirty teacup. Service: both the ladies did not seem very happy, and the one that was taking our order rushed us. Unfortunately, I would not recommend unless you are really hungry and well...this is your only option after you pass security.
