Everything was incredible, the ride up breathtaking. Seeing those scaling cliffs float past as the cable cart made the final approach really made everyone gasp! The wait was hectic though. Don't go in a school holiday unless you are really kitted out and prepared to stand and sit for about 2 hours in the queues. For pensioners, bring your ID/Passport. You can look like Moses shaking and tripping all over your grey beard - no ID, no discount!
The views were amazing and I spoke to many people from over the world. It's quite a tourist attraction. In foreign currency terms its basically for free. Very good value. There is a restaurant, souvenir shop and toilets on top. As mentioned, If you choose a busy in-season day, be prepared to wait.. The staff was very friendly and helpful and did their best to make us comfortable and manage all the people and school children.
My Time Frame: Queue wait to go up: 2h20 Time spend on top about 1h Queue wait for down trip about 35min I went mid morning. Bad time. Go either very early or after lunch, or call for advice. Buying tickets online can save lot of time as you skip one queue. Bring sun screen! All in all a wonderful trip, I'll definitely do it again, but during a...
Read moreThis is a great family activity. Kid would live climbing the rocks. If the views don't amaze you wait for the shocking announcement to let go of the hand rails and step away from the sides. The floor literally rotates 360 degrees for an awesome panoramic view whilst approaching the mountain peaks gently making the thrill even better. The cool crisp air fills your lungs as quickly as you ascend the mountain. Taking in the terrain will require some time and good takkies. Be sure to dress warmly for the windy days and binoculars would be a nice to have. The Cafe has great coffee and sandwiches for a quick bite as well. Im so proud that they serve drinks in 100 %eco friendly cups and containers. Toilet facilities are clean and neat for females. Such a bonus to ride for free in your birthday month and get some nice perfect pictures taken for you. The gift shops has some affordable souvenirs too. Found some penguin coasters and actual little table...
Read moreTable Mountain is one of the seven wonders of the world. It is a must visit for every person living in South Africa and those visiting Cape Town. Parking seems to be problematic. The cable car ride is free if you celebrate your birthday. You must produce your ID. Studens and pensioners pay special prices. You can book online or you can pay at the site. I would suggest that you go early in the morning to make the most of the day, as well as obtain parking space. Peace, perfect peace greets you on the mountain. It is always the perfect retreat. You have options to explore the different paths, view different sites, fill a hungry tummy at the restaurant and buy souvenirs at the shop. I must however caution you that these souvenirs are very pricey. Cold water is also on sale on top of and off the mountain. I love every moment when ever I go to Table Mountain. I always make new memories. I challenge you to make this your next...
