Wimpy Table Bay Mall — Restaurant in Western Cape

So on yesterday my wife and I visit the Table Bay Mall and go to the Wimpy there for a quick meal. I order the 1/4 chicken & steak and my wife orders the Wimpy burger. What a disappointment!

We start by ordering milkshakes first and ask that they bring it to the table while we look at the menu. We wait for 20 minutes after ordering the milkshakes before they eventually arrive. Shouldn't it take about 5 minutes to make? We order a regular milkshake and a mega, and when we ask if both come with sprinkles, we are told that only the regular comes with sprinkles. Lo and behold, we get two mega milkshakes. Then, when my wife complains that she didn't order the mega, they offer to put sprinkles on it, after just telling us that they don't put sprinkles on mega milkshakes.

When our food arrives, my wife's meal is cold. She sends it back to be warmed up. I am more upset at the size of my steak, which definitely does not look like the one on the menu picture. The wafer-thin piece of ** I got cannot be called a steak, and reminds me of those processed rib burgers you get at the supermarkets. Definitely a case of false advertising! At least the chicken was OK.

R 214 later I am convinced more than ever that 'fast food'='** food' = 'no value'.

At R160/kg I can buy very decent steaks/chops/ribs, etc at the supermarket, and make it at home in the same time, and I'll get better quality food and will probably pay less for it too. I understand that you have to make a profit, but this was a...

I went in the early hours on my birthday to treat myself, and my day was almost ruined. Got there, and there was a que which is normal but starting there they were not seating down the customers in the first come first serve basis which lead to arguments between waitresses and customers. After being set down, waited for more than 30mins just to be given a menu, when the lady with uncombed and untidy hair finally came to get our orders she attended to 2tables that were seated after me first, I said to her excuse me I was here and seated first, she gave me a hand and told me "wait I will get to you when I'm done" and she continued attending to those tables first.....When she brought the food she was just throwing the plates in the table. The manager was going around smiling and asking only a few tables if they were fine, satisfied etc...., Worst ever Wimpy experience, never ever going...

Breakfast was very poor. My wife and in-law go there regularly and they asked me to join them this morning. We were very disappointed with the breakfast, I had a Farmhouse and wife and mother had the Streaky breakfast. First off the food was ICE cold, the streaky bacon was sent back to crisp it, it looked like a piece of ham, the bacon came back burnt, eggs were cold and not cooked properly, the toast was sloppy bread... My word it was awful... We will not go back there again, rather spend my money on a hot breakfast where staff actually care about service. Its not that the restaurant was full, only 5 tables were occupied. Bad food, staff who don't give a damn... Spur breakfast...
