손가면옥 — Restaurant in Bucheon-si

This place is legit! If you are up for some of the world's best mandu and pork galbi, this is it. Warning: make sure you go there fast (or late) or else you'll be standing in line for a long time.

This joint is classifed under the nengmyun and galbi classification. You're typically in a run-down place with a grill in the middle, vents hanging from the ceiling, and the tables lined up like a communal dining place. The utensils are stored under each table in a tray. And I guess that really is the nostalgic way of enjoying a bowl of cold noodles.

Nothing wrong with this setting but then you aren't expecting much from the atmosphere. This is not a date place. This is not a high-end place. And be prepared to smell like burnt meat all over as you exit. But again, that's all part of the experience and perhaps another method just doesn't make sense.

And in the midst of this, you get mandu. Mandu cannot be made in a factory. Each store prides itself from making their own mandu by hand. If you know the difference between Chinese dumplings, baos, Japaenese gyozas, and Korean mandu, you're in for a treat. The mandu in this location is "special" to say the least.

Reasonable price. My only feedback is to get more kimchi all around. The joint nails its missino. Absolutely worth...

손가면옥 오픈 때부터 꾸준히 찾던 사람입니다. 손가면옥 비냉을 어머님께서 좋아해서 자주 가면서 정이 들기도 했죠.

엊그제 냉면과 고기를 먹고 엄청난 실망을 했습니다. 앞으로 다시 찾지 않기로 결심했습니다.

그 이유는 손가면옥 비빔 냉면특유의 맛이 사라졌습니다. 그냥 일반 함흥냉면입니다. 그런데 가격은 과하게 비싸요. 잊었는지 육수도 안내오더라구요.

돼지갈비를 시켜먹었는데, 품질이 별로입니다. 이 가격 이 품질이면 중동신도시에 있는 고몽을 가는 게 더 좋을 수도 있습니다. 그 외에 천연도 합리적이겠네요.

홀은 좁으니 손님이 지나가, 종업원이 지나가다가 밥 먹고 있는 사람을 툭툭 치고 다닙니다.

밑반찬도 딱히 맛이 없고, 돼지 갈비도 비싸고, 원산지도 그렇고. 된장국은 맛있더군요. 그런데 그거 먹으려고 여길 가지는 않을 겁니다.

같이 가신 분도 10년 넘게 다닌 분인데, 앞으로 안가겠다고...

돼지갈비는 어떻게 손질? 칼집?을 내놨길래 무슨 옷 조각 찢어진거마냥 나옴. 고깃집 가위가 날이 얼마나 안 드는지 물냉면 자르는데도 애를 먹음. 갈비탕은 사진 보다시피 기름 덩어리가 잔뜩 붙어 있는 것을 줌. 이렇게 큰 기름 덩어리면 본인들이나 먹던지 어떻게 손님에게 내 줄 생각을 하는지 어이가 없음. 반찬 중 상추 겉절이 양념은 니맛도 내맛도 아니고 된장국은 무지 짜고 양은 코팅 다 벗겨진 작은 양은냄비에 나옴. 냉방도 시원하지 않아 다른 고깃집 대비 넓고 큰 불판 앞에서 고기를 직접 구워먹어야해서 여름철에는 돼지갈비 등 고기 먹으러 이 손가면옥 가는거 절대 비추. 셀프바 그릇은 제대로 설거지 안 되어...
