Jangsusam — Restaurant in Busan

This got to be the best Korean ginseng chicken I have ever had in my life, mind blowing service and food at a more than reasonable price.

Found this place after we hit the centum mall spa land and decided after spa, good option to have a piping hot soup with delicious chicken and glutinous rice.

It was accessible enough for Krides to drop us off, a small little shop that is run by a very kind ajumma.

She first ask us where are we from, helped us to place our luggages on another table and provided us with instructions on how to enjoy the dish, keep offering us to take photos for us, absolutely love her.

The meal started with a fantastic spread of banchan, every dish was mind blowing good.

It tasted so fresh from the green chili to onions & miso dip. The kimchi was much crunchier and fresh compared to others we have tried and compliment so well with the rest, it was the less fermented kind of kimchi so it was really refreshing and we totally polished off everything.

Now to the main star of the meal, the Korean ginseng chicken, it has two varieties.

One is standard ginseng chicken while the other is mung bean ginseng chicken. The latter was sold out so we ordered their standard.

I feel like I can never go back to the Korean ginseng chicken I have in Singapore after tasted this, on a good winter night, this is crazy comforting and the whole meal was just awesome from beginning to the end.

You start the meal with some ginseng wine and then end off with Korean coffee and not forgetting, the kind ajumma gave us so much ginseng candies to take home, this is like home cook goodness at its best.

The best samgyetang in Busan!

The lady boss and male counterpart was so warm and hospitable. I was greeted with smiles and a small cup of ginseng insam ju. It warmed and nourished my body!

The samgyetang was flavourful, you could alter the salt and pepper levels, tender chicken with rice well soaked with the broth! The ginseng was not bitter at all. Fresh, sweet and packed full of flavour! The lady boss so kindly offered to help take photos and taught how to enjoy the chicken to its fullest potential.

Not forgetting the free side dishes. The geotjeori was tangy, sweet and savoury! Super delicious and quite an appetiser.

The overall experience was comforting and felt like home. One of the best meal I ever had in Busan! Definitely a must go 💕

Before I left, the lady cupped my hands and gave me sweets, and wished me well for the rest of my trip....

Thought Ginseng Chicken Soup is good, but didn’t know it could be this good!

The Ginseng Chicken Soup is perfectly cooked, with subtle but delicious flavor. Imagine chicken meat that falls off from the bones, and so tender that it almost melt in your mouth.

Not only that, they also serve the best Bancham. The variety may be limited to four, but each dish is freshly prepared and serve in huge portion. The complimentary Ginseng Wine and hot Coffee provide a perfect start and round up.

To top it all, the old lady patiently introduced the best way to enjoy the meal in broken English. She also volunteered to take photos. When the taxi took time to arrive, she even went out to check on us while we were waiting outside.
