UJ Smokehouse — Restaurant in Geoje-si

I'm originally from North Carolina so I was very excited when I found UJ Smokehouse while searching for places to checkout in Geoje over the holiday weekend. It was about a 3 hour drive from our home and UJ Smokehouse was our first stop. My wife and I hadn't eaten all day so we were very excited as we entered the restaurant but as soon as we came in, the owner told us that we have to get out at 3:00. I worked in restaurants all through college so I understand how frustrating it is when people come in before closing but we came at 2:00 which feels like plenty of time and the way he phrased it felt rude. I thought maybe I was being overly sensitive because I’m not exactly a native Korean speaker but my wife also said it was rude. What's funny is my wife and I were looking at Naver later that night and another couple came 10 minutes before us that day and wrote that the owner said something similar to them in a review. “라스트오더 설명없이 세시되면 가게 나가라고 하시더군요. 1시간 식사시 간으로 충분하다고 생각해서 왔는데 기분이 안좋았네요.”

We ordered a mac and cheese but the owner never brought it. The owner brought our food out but never brought us anything to drink so I had to ask for water. The service was very curt and rude throughout the entire dining experience. The food was good but we were very disappointed with the how rude the owner was and started our first day in Geoje with a very sour taste...

The only BBQ restaurant in this city, and maybe one of the best among this southern part of this peninsula. This shop tries to present orginal Texas BBQ with briskit, chicken, rib and pulled pork, which is quite succeful to bring the taste of USA. Other side dishes as macN'chese, vegies, bread give very wonderful combination of the meal. The only regret is that briskit is quite likely to gone early even if you book a time to visit. Price for cuisine is basically quite higher, but it is worthy enough to pay for any family event or important, precious time. Make sure to try to be early...

Went in for lunch with my wife, place was empty. Requested lunch special as advertised on website, was informed not available. Ordered brisket platter, additional beans and brisket fried rice along with two drinks. Waitress came back to tell us we needed to order two meals since there were two of us. I said it would be too much food as we were not that hungry, asked her to check with Manager since place was still empty. She came back to inform us Manager required us to order two meals.
