Forest Outings — Restaurant in Goyang-si

Reminds me of Paris Baquette but more upscale and comfortable. Did not have dinner but grabbed pastries and coffee... decent selection but all cold, would prefer 1-2 options of warm pastries. Coffee flavor ok but my personal taste/flavor likes Paik better. LOVE they have decaf at night, although only iced....but ran into same issue as I hit almost everywhere in Korea... had to jump thru hoops to get milk in my coffee! Jaha. Anyway, great ambiance and if I want to spend a few hours to catch up with friends, this would be a good choice! **2024 update -- pastas now $23-28 and other meals seem quite expensive for a bakery/coffee place .. pastries and coffee are good but I am finding these on the higher cost side than other local places .. love the ambience BUT you are paying for this in your food/drink pricing! This is the main branch and they redecorate seasonally; at least spring vs. winter. When I went to the songdo branch it was winter and there were several polar bears and Christmas trees.

It seems like the menu rotates seasonally or between branches because the food items were different as well. We got a churro croissant with Udo Island peanut whipped cream, a chocolate salt bread, and a smote cookie, and 2 americanos. It was all good!

Visited as a tourist. Took a bus and walked up a slope to get there. From the outside this cafe looks relatively unassuming. But step in and you're transported to a new world. Three whole levels (which I read are fully packed on weekends)! There is an endless selection of pastries on display. I don't know how one can decide but we settled on two and they were both great. I'd give it a five stars for the effort to design this place and...
