Outback Steakhouse Dongtan — Restaurant in Hwaseong-si

A 15 minute wait at around 7 p.m. on a Tuesday didn't sound too bad made it seem like it was going to be worth while boy was I wrong. I asked for a Salad instead of a Soup as the option is there on the menu. I was given both and charged extra for the salad as I ordered the 'Australian' 400-430 g steak. The Salad was bland but okay the soup was tasty but you could tell it was from a can for sure . Although the service was speedy the Steak was disgusting although cooked right (M-R) you would expect that a $55 steak would melt in your mouth instead 1/5th was chunks of inedible fat. I had to ask when the rest room was as there was a moment that one of the bites ended up in the Toilet. Another 1/5 was bone (normal) and fatty tissue that the steak knife could not even cut through. To add when I expressed my concern and asked for the restroom I was not told asked once if the meal was okay or any other concerns regarding it. When leaving I had paid for the Meal and expressed my dis content and due to the language barrier was only given a smile and a nod. The Hostest/Server was well aware of the bad experience I had just endured and did nothing, despite there being only a limited language barrier.

Professionalism, courtesy, as well as the staffs proficiency to communicate in English were phenomenal. We ordered the Tomahawk Steak for two (811.93 grams / 1.79 lbs), cooked medium rare (perfectly cooked). The waitress perfectly cut the steak for us tableside. The starters were fresh baked bread, cream cheese soup, and mushroom soup. The steak stole the show while also sharing the plate with mashed potatoes, mushrooms, and gravy. This combo also came with a creamy spicey shrimp pasta (two servings), and we opted for a peach and mango aide (also included in the combo). Not really a traditional outback. Which is a cheap chain restaurant in every sense of the phrase. They've really put the makeup on. A single person can't get a steak unless they're willing to get more than a half kilo of meat for more than 150,000...
