Donkey and I were so glad we stumbled upon Gowoo Ni! We were initially hesitant to enter because they didn't allow bikes inside, but the server was incredibly welcoming and understanding once we explained our situation. He even offered to let us park our bikes inside to stay warm since it was raining.
We were both so impressed with the server's English, which was far better than any other fast food restaurant we'd encountered in Jeju. He was so knowledgeable about horse meat and patiently explained its benefits and recommended cooking it medium rare. It was our first time trying horse meat, and it was incredible. It honestly tasted like beef, and we wouldn't have known the difference if we hadn't been told. The abalone was also amazing. It is so fresh and perfectly cooked. We loved the kimchi soup, side dishes, and everything else was flavorful and delicious.
The server was an absolute gem. He even taught us how to cook the horse meat, abalone, and a bit of horse fat together for a truly amazing bite. The horse fat was delicious and he assured us it was good for our health. He even showed us which parts of the abalone were edible and we got to try the intestine for the first time and it was surprisingly good.
Although the restaurant was a bit quiet, the server explained it was because of the rain. I'm not surprised though because this restaurant is a hidden gem that deserves more recognition.
Overall, Gowoo Ni is a must-visit for anyone looking for a unique and delicious dining experience in Jeju. The food is fantastic, the service is exceptional, and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. We highly...

Read moreFirst time eating horse meat. BBQ was nicely done by staff. The BBQ meat had its own mild distinct taste. Didn't taste like pork nor beef. Meat was very tender and juicy. We also had horse meat soup, which had lots of thinly sliced horse meat. It was a special dinner. Received free horse cream...
