Paris Baguette — Restaurant in Jeju

Out of all the Paris Baguette branches I’ve visited, this was unfortunately the worst in terms of customer service. My wife and I stopped by for the first time, and since the tables were full, we logically ordered our food to take out. While I briefly stepped away to look at other items, my wife received her order. At that moment, the only male server in the branch pointed sternly and spoke to her in an unnecessarily rude manner, saying she could not sit at the tables because it was a take-out order.

What made the situation more frustrating was that I observed local customers with take-out orders sitting at tables without issue. When I confronted the server, he then asked the local customers to leave , but he did so politely, unlike how he treated my wife. This made the inconsistency even more obvious. Rude to foreigners but courteous to locals?

Jeju Airport is an international airport, where employees inevitably interact with travelers from around the world. Paris Baguette is a globally recognized brand, and its staff should be trained to treat all customers with the same level of courtesy and respect. If employees do not wish to engage respectfully with foreigners, then perhaps working at an international airport cafe is not the right role for them. Thought the long line was to board a flight but when I sat there eating my newly purchased meal I realized it was the line to Paris Baguette! Apparently it was a Jeju specialty selling that day. However, I’m not sure why this chain is called Paris Baguette since it has clearly locally adapted their menu to the Korean taste. More like Korea...
