Geumam Myeonok — Restaurant in Jeonju-si

지난달 가족들과 한국 방문 중 사촌동생과 함께 전주 금암면옥 본점을 방문했습니다. 원래 전주 출신이여서 한옥 마을에 위치한 베테랑 칼국수를 20여녀전부터 쭉 다니다가 한옥마을이 관광지가 되면서 원래의 베테랑 칼국수 본연의 맛이 없어져서 그 대안으로 전주 사람들이 많이 찾는다는 금암 면옥을 추천받고 방문을 했습니다. 테이블에서 태블릿으로 주문을 할 수 있었고 얇은 피가 특징적인 만두와 들깨가루가 잔뜩 들어간 칼국수, 그리고 매꼼한 소스가 일품인 쫄면 그리고 아이들을 위해서 옛날 돈까스를 주문을 했습니다. 입맛이 까다로운 전주 출신 요리사의 입맛에도 전반적으로 평균 이상의 맛이었습니다. 베테랑 칼국수보다 금암 면옥의 맛으로는 한 수 위인거 같네요. Last month, while visiting Korea with my family, I went to the main branch of Geumam Myeonok in Jeonju with my cousin. Originally from Jeonju, I used to frequent Veteran Kalguksu in the Hanok Village for over 20 years, but as the Hanok Village became a tourist spot, I felt that Veteran Kalguksu had lost its original flavor. So, on a recommendation that Geumam Myeonok is a popular spot among Jeonju locals, we decided to give it a try. We could place our order using a tablet at the table, and we ordered mandu with its signature thin skin, kalguksu loaded with perilla powder, jjolmyeon with a deliciously spicy sauce, and old-school donkatsu for the kids.
